Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Some people actually thought the 3 week review was it, to me it's if they need to make it stricter.
Add to that, Gove himself came out today on the Andrew Marr show and said strict measures could be in place for a significant period of time before being lifted.

June is constntly being bounded around, which matches with the twelve weeks that we're working off, so it being played before then is very, very slim indeed.

"But errr, it can be behind closed doors," claims Jimmy from the Kop. So players aren't meant to abide by social distancing? Are we going to have a 2m limit?

The whole rioting concept is ludicrous too because they all know that they'd become pariahs if they protested on the streets, and they aren't brave enough either.

If they protested after it was all over, they'd be getting no sympathy either because by then the numbers of dead, seriously ill and businesses folded would be out.

Their title is immensely small in the grand scheme of things: it'll either be given to the them soon or the title voided. Finishing the actual season is pretty darn unlikely!

If I am truly honest, I don't care if they're given the title or not because again, in the grand scheme of things, it's totally irrelevant versus the misery it's bringing.

Some right animals in that video. The rape comment was absolutely appalling. Haven't watched it again, but I'm sure he goes on to say ".. slowly, over a long period of time" or something, trying to be all philosophical. lol Then there is that kin whopper Pete Price who couldn't care less about football sticking his oar in. Idiots.

There's an extended one on YouTube, I haven't had the stomach to approach that one yet though.

How someone actually thought that rape comment was appropriate, then it was deemed appropriate for the video and then the rs fanbase let it pass without criticism tells you everything you need to know.

Somehow they have managed to make China look good in comparison in this crisis.

Spoke to a Leeds fan who had the same mentality as them lot.

Sporting entertainment is at the very bottom of things which matter right now,

My own view is, if it does start to improve, this season is already impacted, why rectify this one to only impact the next?

One thing I would be open to however, if we have to finish this one, is make next season a one game against each other league at neutral venues, thought it was class when semi finals used to be all over the country, a Merseyside Derby at the millennium stadium for example would be decent.

Just as I said a couple of weeks ago, social distancing must be practised until the Autumn at least, according to Professor Neil Ferguson.

We need to move past whether this season can continue, because it quite simply can't do, we instead need to look into what next season will look like.

The quandary with this is thus:
The RS being accused of ignoring or overlooking deaths in order to get a trophy.
Everyone else using deaths as an excuse to deny them a trophy.

Right, I know it's not completely that clear but that's as basic as I could compare and contrast either side by trying to take an objective view. When looked at from this angle neither side looks pleasant. It's a proper no win situation (hopefully ).

People aren’t using deaths as an excuse to not give them a trophy, people don’t want the league to be continued as it will cause deaths, and targeting next season is very sensible rather than letting this one spill over into next season for no reason.

It’s just a weird coincidence that this has happened when a team with a history of bloodshed is top of the league, so it’s quite topical.

Ultimately, Liverpool fc are and I assume always will be the only team in the country who’s fans have committed murder on a mass scale at the football, and it’s proving quite obvious that their fans would spread this virus further if they could get away with it in exchange for a trophy and that’s ridiculous

If RS and Leeds are robbed in the same season it will be one amazing season!

Ffs! lol

You know what mate, I think the prem will take any decision to the wire because they are gagging for the RS to get the prem title.
They are mate for sure. But the Prem can hold out all they want, when FIFA, UEFA and the FA are told by government that football won’t be returning before at least October, they’ll have no other option.

This season is done, stick a fork in it. The history books will say “19/20 Season - Null & Void due to pandemic”.

And only Liverpool fans and maybe Leeds fans will have an issue with this.

The RS Daily Bugle and BBC Radio RS will go into meltdown once the season gets cancelled.
I don't read or buy the Echo, but I do occasionally tune into Merseyside - both will be unbearable
