Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Thought this was very interesting. Pure analysis of the facts by a disinterested party. It's mainly about Sky money etc but also contains this phrase -

“The hypothesis informing governments assumes an initial three-month long lockdown,” said Enders Analysis, which published the report. “Group activities of 25 people involving close physical contact without protection will not plausibly be the first to be allowed when when some social life resumes.”

Which is interesting amidst all the talk of playing behind closed doors being an easy way to restart things asap. As I say, it's mere analysis, not public health policy or anything.

There is no chance of playing games behind closed doors....no events of any kind will be played before the virus has cleared, and lockdown has been fully finished...
Even a behind closed doors games, requires 32 players, likely 10 coaching staff min., medical staff, ground staff, security staff and Police to insure fans aren't trying to get into the ground or congregatting outside to celebrate, Media and TV staff (reporters, cameramen, sound technicians, pundits, commentators)...

It's simply not happening anytime soon... And at some point the break will have been so long that a mini preseason would be required to get players match fitness back...

They'll probably start it again at end of June, they'll get the 6 points they require then they'll cancel the rest of the games.

Can't restart the season if they don't have enough time to complete the full season.. Relegation, Promotion, European spots all have to be settled....

Alot depends on how far they can push out next season

Many football associations are still committed to finishing their league season with just a handful of games to be played.

"Nobody knows when this pandemic will end," he said. "There is a plan A, B and C.We can start in May, in June or the end of June. If we can't do it on any of those three dates then the season probably won't finish."

"There is also the possibility to finish the season at the start of next season, with next season starting a little late," he said. "It would have to work with respect to the players and the signing periods."

The president of the football federation also say there would have to be changes made to the international calendar and said that it's "difficult to imagine games without fans" but he did leave the door open to that possibility.

"I can't imagine the European cup finals behind closed doors," he said.

The governing bodies can say what they want but if the government are still saying you can’t have 22 people in that close proximity then it really doesn’t matter. They’ll cancel it for sure.
