Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Even if it carries on as if anyone would ever take it seriously.

It's becoming increasingly telling as to who is still banging on about it. We all have bigger concerns right now, or we should at least. It was a bit gutting to think, back in January, that Liverpool would be winning the league. Can't say I've given it a second thought for a few weeks now, and the notion of putting people at risk in order to play out the wet dreams of tossers and ensure Southampton's CEO secures some sponsorship money will leave a stain on those individuals for a long long time.

Can they not just give them a '99% likely to win the league ' shield or something? This season needs to be sacked-off in order to fulfill next seasons commitments.

Let's be honest, we're not going to return to normal for at least a year. Maybe in a couple of months we'll be allowed to go about our daily routines as normal, go to the shops, work, pub etc, and some smaller sporting events might continue like the world snooker championships. But to get fully back into the swing of things with large sporting events where thousands of people attend is just not going to happen any time soon.

But games are delayed, postponed and rescheduled throughout the season with some regularity.

In any case, the point still stands that there is no real precedent set for this.

Saying 'it's not in the rules' doesn't really apply as there are no pre-set rules or guidance as to what should occur in a situation such as this.

Its over for Liverpool's title chance and its over for you.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die.

I see it as very unlikely that they get done by 6/30. So either they ignore that date and finish it afterword why reshuffling the entire football calendar for awhile, they come up with something creative that makes most of the clubs happy, or they void the season and start fresh in the fall. It is much harder for football than American sports where the leagues are single entity and the contract start and end dates are more flexible as a result. That 6/30 releasing of players is going to cause the most issues.

One reason and one reason only it carries on - so they can be “crowned”, and we can all hear about from Thompson, Murphy, Carragher etc. You are 100% right if I it does carry it will never be taken seriously, and their horrible reputation for being the most self entitled, self centred, inward thinking football club will be enhanced. But you know what they wouldn’t care a jot because “they won the league” in 2020!

Jesus Christ people are dying out there and pretty soon we will all know someone who has passed away because of this, but hey ho they say it’s vital the PL retains its integrity and is finished, ha flippin’ ha!

Void it now so everyone knows exactly where they stand, no promotions, no relegation and start it all again only when it’s 100% safe to do so and 100% safe for fans to be inside the stadiums!
