Cancelling this season's Premier League

The behind closed doors solution is a complete no go... Apart from the danger to players, ground staff, etc., whether the PL want to except it or not, thousands of Liverpool fans would gather outside Anfield to be there the day they win the league....the league isn't restarting in any capacity until this virus is officially dead...

The only decision to make now is what is the cut off date...does next season have to start in August/September....

would be beyond the pale to have medical staff, ambulances, and police at a football match behind closed doors if emergency services are at breaking point elsewhere fighting the pandemic. Beyond the pale. The public would never forgive the premier league for it, it would be grotesque beyond belief.

I have family in friends in Italy. We will be lucky if we get any football before the year is out. You can forget August.

But games are delayed, postponed and rescheduled throughout the season with some regularity.

In any case, the point still stands that there is no real precedent set for this.

Saying 'it's not in the rules' doesn't really apply as there are no pre-set rules or guidance as to what should occur in a situation such as this.

last time i checked you need more than 2 people to play a match of footy

I reckon the three weeks is to see if people can actually do it properly. If not, exercise etc will be banned. It will not be fully lifted after 3 weeks.
