Do you agree that if it’s not complete by June the season should be void? Then start 20/21 season in August/September.

No.

As i’ve said, I don’t see any reason why the current season could not be completed after June 30th, but as the year goes on, it becomes more problematic to do so.

Just so I understand your point of view, what consequences do you see for the league considering completing the current season after June 30th?

So let's say they carry on,
no medical staff attend due to being busy with the pandemic,
A situation similar to the plesan-arteta challenge happens....player lying prone on the floor after swallowing his tongue,
Cech, cudicini, chivu etc
Or players unknowingly transfer the virus
People die due to lack of medical attention
Would it be worth it?...
Get over yourself mate, all sport needs to be scrapped and people's lives take priority

To finish this season you interrupt next season, you interrupt next season you interrupt the euros (again) and so on.... where’s the cut off point in your opinion? Or do we keep pushing everything ahead of us out of the way and reschedule just so we complete this season?

OK, let’s accept that that highly unlikely worst case scenario plays out, then Chelsea will have to cope without Pedro (9/29 apps) and Giroud (9/29 apps) for the final few fixtures - what a terrible price to pay.

Likewise, Sheffield United, Burnley, Spurs, Bournemouth and Man City would have to deal without Lundstram, Brady, Hendrick, Vertonghen, Fraser and the soon to be retiring David Silva respectively.

Not at all insurmountable.

Or, y’know, the clubs and players could work together to reach a short term extension to reach the end of the season as a temporary solution - which is absolutely the most likely outcome.

what a terrible price to pay ? I mean you are so desperate , players will have left the club despite being contracted to that club during the ‘season ‘ we’re talking about . Giroud has just hit a run of form with goals and assists but nah he’s left so move on “is it such a terrible price to pay to ensure we have the RS win the league ?”

if the season starts soon , it won’t , great finish it But we can’t move everything can’t change rules can’t ignore contracts even though I think you advocated legislative involvement just to make sure the RS win the league . They deserve to and I can see you , they , would feel robbed but this is really out of everyone’s hands

Just reading papers. I still dont get the pl desire to muck up two seasons when a decision to axe this one now, and fa cup and cl can be taken. Ok its a ruined season but the world is in peril yet they bang on about getting these games in by hook or crook.
I actually have no interest in this season now. No-one has asked the fans what they think. Its all become pointless.

Whoa whoa whoa, nobody is saying that.

As i’ve repeatedly said, the Footy continues only when it’s safe to do so. I think we all agree on that.

As the above scenario represents something unsafe (i.e a game with no medics in attendance) then we can all safely assume that wouldn’t ever go ahead - pandemic or not.

So to be clear, what is your view on when it becomes ‘more problematic to do so’? August? Sept? Oct? What’s your cut off point?

So, just to be clear, your main concern is scheduling? That’s why the season cannot proceed beyond June 30th in your opinion?

The current planned, “normal” schedule has already been interrupted and the clubs, leagues, players and associations have got together and reached an agreed extension which will inevitably mean that some concessions and compromises are made - one already being that the Euro’s have been pushed to next year, that decision alone could also affect future World Cups, the AfCon, Copa America, the Olympics, planned International friendlies and perhaps even the domestic cups next season too.

So my point is, It may well be that future schedules are impacted because of decisions already taken. If the authorities are already prepared to push and adapt future schedules once, they’ll be prepared to do it again if the world requires an extension beyond June 30th.

I think June 30th is the planned date for resumption, but I fully expect it to go past that into July, perhaps even August and September. If this thing gets worse, still, then it may only be safe in November and December - I mean who can really say?

It’s a gradual thing. I’d say the later in the year it gets, the more likely they are to scrap it altogether and reach a conclusion on what happens with league titles, relegations, promotions, European places and associated prize money etc.

But i don’t think we’re quite there yet, they don’t have to consider any of that yet. As Rooney said on Twitter recently, lets say, hypothetically, the league was to finish even in December, then the various associations could use this as an opportunity to adjust schedules drastically ahead of the Qatar world cup which must take place in November / December for safety reasons.

Why are you so insistent that this is some pro-Liverpool agenda? Have you ever considered the possibility that clubs across the country, particularly lower league clubs, have a vested interest in resuming the league? A voided league season would be absolutely catastrophic for lower league clubs who are already in the mire financially.

so you’re good with extending it 8 months right ?

So you don’t have a cut off point?? The next time we play football it will be 19/20 season regardless of month or year we start? You could interrupt this season and be back on schedule for August or we could restart this season in November and finish in January 2021 then what??
