Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

This isn’t to make light of the tough times ahead, with many set to lose their livelihoods, and worse, many likely to lose loved ones, so sincerely, if you have been affected, I mean no offence; but I would laugh my balls off if it got declared void.
I can't see any other solution. Yes I would laugh my scurvy ridden face off too

If they want to 'finish the season', there will be uproar as fans disregard staying away. It will have to be enforced by the police and/or military. They've mooted taking it 'abroad'. Where to? They're desperate to 'finish the season' due to money and nothing else. How insensitive to announce that today when hundreds have died in Italy and Spain. Not only will English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish footballers, coaches, managers and others be worrying about their family and friends, but all those from different parts of the world will be worried about those in their homeland. Will the players and managers wont to carry on this season? I doubt it.

The EFL. have stated they will finish the present season. This means the PL will follow suit Im sure. So says Rick Parry - I wonder why he wants it completed?

They’ve said they want to complete it by the 30th June as long as it’s safe to do so. That’s a bit of lip service and exactly what I’d expect at this stage even if null and void is the long term plan.

It’s what they didn’t say that was more telling seeing as everyone knows the 30th June, the day contracts end by the way, is completely unrealistic and there’s no chance 1 football is being kicked before then. Never mind getting all the games played.

Prem clubs pushing to continue this season isn't a shock, they want the money.

Though, realistically, they might not have a say In what happens if this outbreak gets any worse.

Only gonna get worse before it gets better mate.

No way does this season finish (even behind closed doors) by the cut off point of 30th June unless all teams decided to use their u9's teams to finish the season.

In mine, Everton & Wolves are the only teams to be ever present. In an all time league, everton are top followed by wolves, stoke city .

Stoke had a dynasty akin to Man U from the mid 90s to mid 2000s. 10 years ago Derby entered my league and built up and have enjoyed their dynasty. Currently they have Messi and Mbappe playing up top. Stoke have been in the doldrums and lost their wealth, but signing Higuain has given them a renewed run.

All my teams can sign anyone they can afford (if I consider the player would actually want to go there) -apart from everton. They're the real deal even to the extent that I wont play a player if the real player is injured - which is why we struggled this season. There are a few fictional players in the mix too. In my world James Vaughan never got injured after leaving Everton. He's enjoyed a great career for Coventry city, finishing as a league champion last season.

I play as my favoured 8 or so teams (16 teams in my league) - will be the home side if I'm playing one of my own. Theres no bias and I always play to win - even against Everton.

Tell ya who was boss, FIFA 07 Jan Koller. Saw Newcastle win the 6th season of my world by a single point, with the 6'7 monster getting a last-ditch header at the "Ricoh Arena" (cue limbs from the fat ass Geordies).

On that note, Coventry also enjoyed a good run in my top-flight universe, with Clinton Morrison being an utter beast for a while.

I also had World Cups and Euros on the go every other pre-season. USA, Germany and Brazil won theirs, Ghana were runners up to Germany. God, so many memories of being a layabout student, where the hell did those days go?

If its any consolationto the rs, their high intensity kick and rush has seen them hit a wall recently (no pun intended) which has resulted in them going from "invincibles" to losing 4 out of their last 6.
With an extra couple of months rest before the new season starts, they should now be able to go out and do it again next season rather than the players all going to knackers yard.

So they get to win without winning this season, and will also be hot favourites next season to win it fair and square and actually earn their first premier league title

London in imminent lockdown and the schools are all closing. Not a chance even the PL can restart any time soon.
No chance it can start again anytime soon, they will probably push back the proposed restart date to early May I guess to give them a chance, but that is possibly the latest date to have time to squeeze the remaining fixtures in before the 30th June deadline.
This season is done football wise now. it’s just a matter of what they decide about league positions, relegation, promotion etc...
