ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Used to think you couldn't get worse than Chelsea fans waving £50 notes but this guy's "I'm so rich I can waste toilet paper" act is really winding me up

he was walking out of a coffee shop in the Baltic triangle yesterday so it’s a bit early for him to be getting cabin fever .

the PL could enforce the resumption of the league, but if all the players say no, what can they do? void all the games and declare the RS as winners? they probably will.
They can’t. They know they can’t. One illness or worse, one death of a footballer due to Corona and they are knackered. Schools closing on Friday until further notice.
475 deaths in one day in Italy yesterday.
There is no chance of this season being finished before next season is due to start.
I‘ll be surprised if next season starts this year, or maybe very late this year.
They can award them the title, who cares, I don’t.

Exactly. Some things are more important than a tin pot.

I'm sure it's not just a coincidence that end of June correlates with the date that player's contracts usually end.

If players leave for pastures new, when the season is still going, I can imagine the clubs that lose the players will have a few words to say about the integrity of the competition.

Thats exactly correct mate. It will need to be resolved before June 30th when new contracts come in. Everyone in football apart from Liverpool will understand this.

If they start with different players, law suits galore.

Ceferin coming out saying that if league’s can’t complete then they won’t be honouring who is number 1 at the moment. How dare he not tow the party line. Watch the PL now disgrace itself trying to hold some garbled version of football in amongst a pandemic to get all this done by June.

I've been very nervous about making big proclamations that "they won't win the league". It's a fluid situation and who knows what will happen. However events, and time are definitely going against them currently.

I think todays little skit, where the 3 pro-Liverpool presenters looked utterly ridiculous refusing to intellectually engage in the debate that Liverpool haven't won the league yet is not helping them. Neither frankly is the disregard the woman showed with her "well just take a game off people" nonsense. If I was a pro- Liverpool voice I'd be really nervous about this sort of sentiment. It just makes the whole idea of them being gifted the title seem all the more stupid.

I saw a discussion with them earlier, and one of the more sensible ones made a valid point in saying, if you wanted to void the league, at present you'd just be keeping your powder dry. Brady's comments in terms of timing were stupid. However Liverpool have not really utilised them very well, and have rather missed the open goal attempt. Taking the moral high ground, essentially stating footballs not important and this juncture and they won't be drawn into speculation would have been the way to go. In as far as a trap was set, they've fallen into it though.

However I don't doubt that there are lots of people, behind closed doors who are going to be quite happy to void the season, even with 3 1/2 months to go. I mean, I can't really see anyone who has massively distanced themselves from Brady's comments. I can only see Brighton's chairman saying they should be champions. It's hardly 14+ teams lining up behind them. And this support will start to be challenged as this goes on.

UEFA will want uniformity. They are not going to want 1 league declaring results and th rest not. Or one league starting much later. The whole transfer window rules are based upon being as uniform as possible. As the death toll rises, what is quite a cautious organisation may just panic and make a knee-jerk decision that all leagues are voided. I see that as having some potential.

Liverpool fans are starting to get more snippy as well. They seem to be banging on about finishing the season at all costs. That to me sounds like they've been tipped off, if it's cancelled they won't be gifted anything.

Shut the [Poor language removed] up you big nosed [Poor language removed]. Nobody's interested - NOBODY.

So the priority shouldn’t be how the PL could prop up the rest of the football pyramid and stop multiple lower league clubs going to the wall? Nah, just how all the clubs can get their money and Liverpool can get their pot.

I don't care about this season now. I hope that everyone is well and safe including the rs. Football should look after all the clubs and help each of them support the communities they serve.
