"As revealed by Telegraph Sport last month, there is no regulation governing what happens if the 2019-20 campaign is curtailed. But a senior club executive revealed on Friday night that there was little opposition to awarding Jurgen Klopp’s men their first English title for 30 years following what threatened to be the longest suspension of the professional game since the Second World War.

Leaders Liverpool are 25 points clear of second-placed Manchester City and two more victories for the Anfield club will give them the title. Such is the gap that there is no appetite among their rivals to deny them the crown."

Sorry - when I said click bate-ish I opened it and read it. I just mean that it's full of baseless pondering with a title and subject that will garner a lot of traffic. Even if they give them the title it will have an * against it.

True. Far more important things. I dialyse three times a week at a clinic, which has about 15 beds. Two shifts a day 30 people a day 6 days a week. Every patient has 'on going issues' some more serious than others. I have been sneezing for two days(better today) but dialysis specialist has cleared me for the weekend...a film crew of five people arrives at my home on Saturday morning to do an interview. We've had to get paper plates, disposable cups, hand lotion, etc, and fortunately I have hundreds of rubber gloves here(don't ask !!) It will be a nightmare for some of the older patients if they are isolated apart from dialysis clinic. Just one aspect to what all this means. All I do is jump in the car and drive to dialasis Mon,Wed and Fri. Most have to wait for an ambulance or other NHS transport.

I'm intrigued by the rubber gloves situation, but your post is a reminder to those of us that are relatively healthy for our age that we're pretty lucky, whereas people like @Joey66 , yourself and many others that post on here are very dependent on the NHS functioning normally.

Keep plodding on mate.

Why would rivals go oh they’re you go? Ffs they woudnt.

Because you are looking at things as an Evertonian.

If this was Chelsea or Leicester 25 points clear you wouldnt be arsed if they were given it.

As I've said this is Liverpool we are talking about - they are the media darlings & Man City are the only ones who could have caught them and Guardiola conceeded the title race was over weeks ago.

Not one club will vote against them being crowned sadly.

Give them a special shield, or better yet, a stopped clock trophy to say they were winning upto a certain point, and would stop them ever using that stupid argument about the commemorative clock we had in our trophy cabinet.

All hail the" not-really-but-nearly" asterix champions 2020. You now have 18.5 league titles.

But only if you submit to some strenuous blood testing.

The only fair way would be a complete do over.

They could finalize the FA Cup if they choose, in 1 week at the end of May, 8 teams, 7 games, Saturday/Wednesday/Saturday, all played at Wembley. Finalists would need to play 3 games.

Champions League is trickier because of the 2 legs and the fact that half the teams would still have to finish their current ties. If those remaining 8 teams played the 2nd leg of those ties, that accounts for 1 match day, 4 games, with an additional 13 games after that. That's 17 total games, with the possibility that 2 finalists could potentially play 6 games, which would require at least 3 weeks.

Then you consider Man City and Chelsea could potentially be involved in all 9 games, so they ties would have to be organised as such, meaning 4 weeks minimum, and that's to play 3 rounds in 2 Cup competitions.

When you look at it that way, the idea of finishing the league is insanity, and would have a massive impact on the following season.

It could obviously be simplified if each remaining team in CL agreed to play each tie as 1 single game, decided with extra time and penalties, no away goals, but that would be a massive decision. But even then, none of that factors in travel.

It would essentially be like organising the World Cup and European Championships to take part in 5 weeks across multiple countries. The logistics would be insane.
I would imagine the Uefa would want their darling tournament finishing over any domestic ones, not a chance all of those games are going to get played with any fairness.

It's not just the title that has to be decided though. That is the biggest factor.

Its just who wins the league though that is undecided

You have to win the league technologically they have not yet acheived that, just like the relegation zone.... So you cannot just hand any team a trophy or relegate them!

So give them league and then all other teams at the top? And then all the bottom teams relegate them?
