What really makes me laugh is the criticism of Atlético.
the same Atlético who have won just two of their last 8 league games, lie 6th in Primera... yet just beat Anfield twice, including at Anfield... their first loss their in 40+ games in all comps.
What are you expecting them to do? Play A fluid game and get spanked like Barca did? Like City, Roma and god knows how many else did?
Michael Owen the clown was calling out Simeone as a bad manager.... saying he’s not an “elite” manager.... despite the fact he knocked the Champions Of Europe out of the “elite” club competition in the world.
what does he have to do to get any praise? Simeone Got it spot on yesterday, and they can’t stand it.
Michael Owen also called Liverpool the “Beat Team in the World.... by far”... but the best team in the league couldn’t beat the team who are currently 6th in La Liga.... twice.
Last year 4 English finalists. This year, 3 English Teams left.
maybe... just MAYBE... the Premier League is garbage this year.
Too right Arsenal losing to Olympiacos just summed up how poor premier league teams are, Chelsea getting destroyed at home to a average Bayern side, Spurs got thrashed even worse by the same average Bayern team at WHL. I think a lot of people on here including myself are being proved right, that Liverpool aren't actually that good, they've largely benefited from poor refereeing decisions, VAR, luck, and other teams being rubbish. They are nowhere near as good as the City side who could of quite easily beat us 7-1 a few seasons ago at GP, they nowhere near as good as the great City, Chelsea and Man United sides of the past. VVD is a quality player, but it looks like his run is coming to end, Mane is a good player, but the rest of their players are average, you can't compare let's say Henderson to Viera, Scholes or Essien, you can't say Salah is anywhere near as good as Ronaldo was or still is, you can't say Firmino is as good as Aguero was or a player like Berkamp, and Mane is nowhere near as good as Henry.
The reality is football has been pretty rubbish the last few seasons, which is why I've largely fell out of love with the game, 15 mill players are being bought for 25/30 million, 25/30 million players are being bought for 50/60 million so it creates the illusion football is getting better. Look at players like Jags, Stones, Coleman, Baines, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill, even players like Felaini, Neville, Howard, all contributed a lot without arriving on huge fees. Yet if you look at players like Bolaise, Klassen, Snides, Tosun, even players like Mina and Pickford, they've come to Everton for large fees and contributed very little. Chris Wilder summed it up when he said he was more worried about playing Milwall than Arsenal, because at least Milwall would get into you and make lift difficult and he was right they outplayed Arsenal at the Emirates and could of won, we should of got something there as well.
