Exactly. I can't believe people are being so optimistic. We are coming at this from such a low base. The foundations have been laid by other clubs. We need to rip it up and start again.

I don't see why Carlo should do it given the financial gains of seeing out his contract, but for the sake of his own reputation, he might take off early and say this is beyond me or anyone else. It has been often said that it is frightening how many players we need to dump and quickly. It is really fortunate that we had that good bump of results to make us safe.
