But it's who you'd rather have as a pretty reliable back-up. For me it's still Coleman – who should have played on Sunday for exactly the same reason as he played v Palace, as he's a far better defender than Sidibe.

Someone like Dumfries from PSV would be my shout. Think he's 24, can run for days, got a really good delivery and is decent defensively (better than Sidibe but lots of room for improvement).

He's a good player him - depends how he handles the jump in quality though.

What happened to that Arias lad we were after last summer? My source said we were well keen but talks quickly broke down hence us ending up with Sidibe later on.

You okay mate?

Been drinking this evening?

Rough life huh, so gotta make stuff up?

Dont want to actually respond to how clearly the first thing you said was stupid and I called you out and I guess embarrassed you on it, so you run away from the subject? Cute.
What on Earth are you talking about? The only person who sounds like they’ve had a bevy is you.

Brands has failed to progress the club in his time here. In the meantime, other clubs, including clubs from the Championship, have come up and bypassed us.

We were told that Brands was a ‘proper DoF’ who would ensure a consistent playing style so when we change managers it doesn’t have an impact on the team. That’s clearly not happened.

He’s failing at his job and his position should be reviewed. It’s ridiculous to suggest he’s been a success here.

One word
Silva
He’s part of the problem but to suggest Brands hasn’t played a role is incorrect.

He didn’t get Silva the defender, central midfielder and centre back he desperately needed. He decided to bring in crap like Delph, Sidibe and Iwobi.

Brands was ridiculously negligent last summer. We are not progressing with him and his frivolous spending on bang average players.

The problem with the CB thing was we had the guy from Torino lined up but Silva would'nt entertain anyone other than Zouma even though Chelsea had already said they would not sell him, you know how stubborn Silva was it cost us many times just with his rigid formation in every game.

Silva put us in the relegation places, Not Brands. Ancelotti has gotten something like 17/24 points yet its Brands fault somehow.

That’s because Ancelotti is an experience lad and exceptional manager and Silva isn’t.

Silva needed guidance and help from Brands and he never got it.

Remember that Silva had us as one of the form teams at the back end of last season, too, then lost Gueye and Zouma.

Brands brought these average players to the club and he is culpable.

culpable for what? For Silva putting us in the relegation zone due to persisting with the horrendous 4-5-1? Not all of the signings haven't worked out and that is fine, If he had 100% record for signing players he'd be at bloody City or Madrid not Everton.
Iwobi is hit and miss.
Delph has been below average.
Sidibie has been good and bad.
Kean is for the future.
You need to accept that not every signing is going to work out and that is acceptable.

Sidibie is an at best average defender, teams who have not already worked him out will have by next season,so will always be a liability and not the sort of player we need if we are going to seriously move forwards.
