Everton have confirmed that they’re giving Liverpool a guard of honour if they do it. Wow.
Hope Le Ev be the bigger man here and show our neighbours the respect they’ve earned, we’ll be providing a guard of honour to a team that will have amassed the most points and wins ever.
Easy to be magnanimous whne you know you're going to win the league yourself in the next year or 2. They can gtf, no guard of honour for the rs, unless they give up 3 years of European qualification and demand that we go into the Champions League to make up for breaking up our best ever team.I think chelsea did it for united and the other way round. Barcelona did it for real Madrid aswell.

It's not the Kop.
Kick off how, it's over in 30 seconds and then the game starts, it's more embarrassment then anything. Barca Madrid is much bigger and nothing happened there.
I don't think you have a choice, buy it's unlikely it will happen anyhow
The rs will throw a couple of points if it meant they were champions at Goodison. So, if I’ve got the maths right, I feel a bit better about the whole situation and I don’t think a guard of honour is actually likely for the derby.
The permutations are as follows (based on Liverpool winning their next 4 games pre-Derby vs Norwich, West Ham, Watford and B’mouth)
If City get 8 points from West Ham (H), Leicester (a), Man Utd (a) and Burnley (h) then Liverpool can win the league with a win in the derby. BUT, no guard of honour before kick off.
If City get MORE than 8 points from those games, then it’s not possible for Liverpool to have wrapped the league up either at or before the derby. So 3 wins and we’re sound.
If City get LESS than 8 points from those games, then they’ll be champions before kick off at Goodison and a guard of honour will be a talking point.
Essentially, for the nightmare scenario to take place, they’d still need City to drop points in TWO of those 4 games. Obviously you’d look at the away games vs United and Leicester as tricky ones for them.
As inconsistent as City have been, and even with their eyes clearly on the CL games with Madrid, I can’t see them dropping points in two of those games.
It looks like we've just won the league.
Exactly do you think barca wanted to do that, but they had to embarrassing but they also got respect for doing itBarca and Madrid, two of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world, probably massive mutual respect between the two of them.
The RS, the most deluded, self - righteous, self proclaiming best fans in the world would love us to do a guard of honour so they could just rub our noses in it and whether it's 30 seconds of embarrassment or not, the atmosphere is toxic enough as it is. Also, isn't a guard of honour supposed to be about showing respect for what someone has achieved, why would we want to do that?
Now I'm not arsed either way, and if I knew it was going too happen I would just get into the game late.
Think the big difference there is that it was at the Bernabeu.. totally different prospect with it being at Goodison.I think chelsea did it for united and the other way round. Barcelona did it for real Madrid aswell.

Arsenal gave united one at the Emirates.Think the big difference there is that it was at the Bernabeu.. totally different prospect with it being at Goodison.
Mate first you said Chelsea-Man Utd now you're saying Arsenal-Man Utd... those aren't Everton-Liverpool at Goodison ffs so stop comparing them.Arsenal gave united one at the Emirates.
If we said no we would be the first team ever to do so. Negative headlines for the wrong reasons.
anyhow, as I said it's unlikely they will win it by then
