Actually I’m saying the complete opposite. I’m saying that DCL had a lot in place to succeed and that all of that is only just paying off now a few years down the line.

I’ve maintained the fact that he needs to be given time as all youngsters do and if you look at some of the greats in the game if people had written them off early doors where would they be?

I do think he should have showed a bit more by now to be honest.
I do agree on your point though, in truth DCL was rushed in too quick too, neither of them should be in the position they were in.
We should have had a more experienced CF to take all the responsibility off these kids shoulders, unfortunately we replaced Lukaku with Niasse, Tosun and Sandro and have had to rely on the kids.

He will get another chance today.

Carlo seems to like 442 - once again you feel this is his opportunity, you wont play teams that will easily concede goals like newcastle a lot.

Its a certain home win, you'd wonder if Kean doesnt net tonight if he ever will.

No not at all. I'm not saying he needs to be publicly flogged or sold or that he's a waste of space and can never come good. I'm pretty sure i've just explained that - again - actually. In answer to your question, what I would advocate is that people stop pretending they always expected this to happen when it's quite clear they didn't, but maybe i'm expecting too much.

I said he would start slotting in Feb...still hope he scores today though :p

Will be a lot harder tonight for him, probably be playing against a back 5 with 3 central defenders sitting deep. Lack of space depends on how brave they are with a high line. Just keep it simple between you and Calvert-Lewin.

Hmm... You did also say:

"My guess is 1.5 goals...

To be honest it could be absolutely anything...the boy looks like hes born to be a superstar.

It could be 1.0 / 1.5 / 2.0 or who knows what."

In your defence, 0 would come under who knows what so you had a point.

ACTIVATE DECIMAL POINTS IN QUOTES

There you go mate...wasnt showing up before so ive quoted your post ;)

Hope he scores later...ancelotti clearly wants him to do something.

You might still be right though mate. Maybe not 20 but he could still bag a few between now and May. I can't stress enough that i'm not saying he's useless and we need to get rid, just that I expected a lot more from him than i've seen so far.

He's done it for Italy at all levels...done it for Juve at all levels and shown on loan in italy he was ready for Juves 1st team.

I think he'd score a sackload for Juve running onto balls...we need him to be more of an all rounder really and hold the ball up. He'll learn that and be much better overall...like Andy Cole.

We do need to give him and the other CFs better service...the midfield is shocking...he's not even had 1 decent chance per game.

@Lanolin Kovacic and Higuain were initially 'not great' for Chelsea...

Now Kovacic looks much better and Higuain has 1 in 2 for Juve again. Both much more experienced than Kean with Kovacic not italian of course and moved around a bit so easier to adapt perhaps?

Could be the italian league is such a huge difference these days...

I don’t get how people can have seen enough of him in 19 games to come to the conclusion that he isn’t good enough yet have seen Tom Davies in 100 odd and believe he still has more to come.

DCL had absolutely everything in place for him to succeed. He came from the football league, he had a stint in the U23’s then was drip fed appearances before being given a chance as and persisted with as our number 9. It’s only this season that all that is starting to pay off.

Kean’s come to a new league with a new culture and a new language at 19 years old with only one bit first team development at Verona and people are expecting him to make an instant impact.
All he needs is a goal and he be a totally different player

He'll come good he just needs to find his feet. Doubt we'll see anywhere near his current best until next season. If we created good chances he'd score as well, can't stress enough how hard our forwards have to work to fashion chances with this midfield.
