Usmanov

I'd be delighted if it were true. It just doesn't ring true, that's all. Why would you conduct your private business through the pages of the FT?

I’m not sure he’s conducting any business, private or otherwise. Very rich man gives interview to highly respected business journal and makes it clear that he has no direct interest in Everton but wouldn’t rule it out. We can all start to dream, even if only for a day or two.

It has also been claimed that Usmanov 'brokered' a deal to bring Carlo Ancelotti to Goodison as manager but the ECHO has been told that the pair met only in a social setting – thought to be in Bavaria, Germany - and that the world's eighth richest man was not involved in the decision-making process that secured the Italian as Marco Silva's replacement.

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

Social setting.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

But it makes more sense if he never comes in officially, he can give us vastly more money from the outside.

I'm just waiting for Prince Andrew to have been at that social setting too for the complete Everton that catastrophe.

Got to laugh at Kirkbride - the Echo understands Moshiri doesnt intend to ask for Usmanovs aid at this stage.

As if Phil knows anything - he's a dye in the wool red that fella if I've ever seen one - always quick to push any story/slant on a story to pour water on the Blues. Like how he and Dom King were always cautious over Ancelotti and constantly name checked Moyes - Red/echo scum.

It’s compulsory for ‘journalists’ at the Red Echo to instantly try and pee all over our chips the second anything positive is reported about the club in the mainstream media. It’s a clearly biased paper and they don’t even try and hide it.

For a man that is notoriously media shy he obviously had his reasons
Maybe he wanted to let Ancelotti know in advance of their meeting that he was on board, because I am sure ancelotti would have had serious reservations about accepting the job .

AU would’ve done the interview knowing it wouldn’t be coming out for a few weeks. If he wanted to reassure Ancelotti that he was on board, why not just call him, instead of doing an interview with a financial paper that won’t publish your interview for weeks and doesn’t particularly state he is coming.

It looks like it has always looked to me: Moshiri’s pet project, with AU wanting to get involved but FM reluctant to top being top dog. I might be wrong, I hope I am, but I don’t expect AU to join us imminently.

Can just imagine them having a couple of pints and a game of darts tbh

People actually take the echo seriously too lol

“Alright Carlo lad , imagine running into you here . Do you want a swift bevy , What you up to ? Signing for Everton , no way you won’t believe this my mate owns them and this is mad right but I sponsor the training ground . Talk about a proper coincidence. Anyway what you up to over Christmas , family good ? “

Was just about to post this lol

Pure spoonfed PR quote, I’d be embarrassed to even put it in the article.

Yeah, they just randomly met up for beer and bratwursts days before Ancelotti is announced as manager of the club that Usmanov definitely doesn’t have any involvement in... no, sir! None whatsoever... lol

Prob because he bought shares in 2007 and the stadium went into the first phase of building in 2004
I'm not talking about him being hands on as a labourer you sad lad, tendering for major works or stuff, these people don't normally knock on the door of an.already built house and ask if they can build it.
What is it that's scaring you?

But the interview was today...weeks after the Ancelotti appointment.

Yes it says 'A week after our meeting, Usmanov brokers a deal to bring Anchelotti to Everton'

There must be some embargo on it or something as Carlo wasn't announced till 21st December even before planning permission was submitted, so that meeting took place weeks ago but only released today
