David Moyes

I'd prefer Tony Pulis to David Moyes. I'm not sure why exactly but I just don't like the bloke.
Moyes got eight top half finishes and qualified for Europe four times in 10 full seasons. He also consistently improved the team on a poor budget. I really do not understand all the hate.

Even his average finishing position of eight is great, when you take into account what hewalked into.

Its true he did a decent job in the time he was here. And I don't blame him for taking the shot at the United job after being here 11 years. Its just his schtick I can't stand, the man gets on my nerves. Familiarity breeds contempt perhaps.

I read a weird New York Times story where they basically said he never overachieved due to the budget, etc when he left to go to Man Utd. But it didn’t take into account at all the position the club was in when he arrived!

He's done really well since leaving Everton hasn't he? Uno, dos, tres times he's been f'kin awful since.

If his average position was 8th and Everton would have been inside the top 10 in terms of budget I'd hardly say he overachieved. He did stabalize the club after some rocky times before he took over. He's a solid manager working where there is not big expectations.

But it was a sloppy article that just looked at the most recent year and extrapolated that backwards. Didn’t look at the financial position when he joined the club, transfers in and out, wage bill by year, etc. So it didn’t give an accurate reflection of what had actually gone on
