Sort it out Sharply

I read this about an hour ago, but its been updated. I think this was originally written before the Derby, as that was not what it said at the bottom.....

I think that Ipswich's Carlos Edwards would be a perfect replacement for Pienaar. Saw a lot of him when he played for Wrexham, used properly he could be a great player.

Please say this is a wind up?!

He is awful. Follow the Tractor Boys closely with my old man and he was only bought there as Keane was trying to recreate Sunderland. Oh and he's 32!!

Insane.

So a bid for Pienaar has been accepted. Yet Moyes is on telly and radio saying Pienaar still has a future at Everton.

Are ya pulling my leg Davey? are ya lad? are ya?

It would be like taking your missus back after she had been shagging some arld fella down the road. Some would just because they dont like change or unfamiliarity, some wouldnt want her but wouldnt want anyone else to have her, I sit in the latter camp.

I would welcome Pienaar back for the rest of the season. It's more like outrageous flirting rather than shagging so far...

That what I was saying before and both Tubey and myself agreed it wasn't really possible to the benefit of the club

If he goes the lad deserves to go with his head held high. He's been a fantastic player since his arrival. Not once has he spoke badly about the club or manager to the press. He has been dignified through media speculation for over 12 months and that includes his agent. Its going to be sad to see him go but if the club isn't fulfiling his ambitions i don't blame him!

Will he be a regular at Chelsea? I'm not sure maybe!

I'm wondering how the rest of the squad will/has reacted to him letting them down by not being willing to play yesterday, I know if one of my teammates said that he'd get an earful next time I saw him. No I in team and all that. If he doesn't end up going until the summer how are we going to be if he plays, and how will the rest of the team be

Good point. But I bet Ossie wa alright with it as it meant he got a game!!

I can go with a lot of those points. I think it's the emotional side of people taking over, we're passionate about the club and would give our right testical to play for the blue shirt. Perhaps that makes it hard for people to understand that the majority of footballers are not of like mind.
His agent has done him no favours either tbf.

His agent hasn't done him any favors but his agent never came out and said that he was a lock in signing for us either. You're not wrong about the emotional part either.

He had every intention of leaving us last summer but that was scuppered when he had a crap world cup, subsequently not one single bid was submitted. He is also intent on denying the club a transfer fee in order to line his own pockets, the same club that salvaged his dwindling career at Dortmund. He is ( allegedly) pricing himself out of a move to Chelsea by demanding huge wages that he and his agent know full well that Chelsea won't pay, all in order to line his own pockets with the extra few grand.

His wages should be docked for his decision not to make himself available yesterday, but that won't happen because DM will probably be wary of upsetting him and that it will only reaffirm his intentions of snubbing Chelsea.Yes he has given us 100%, but that's what he's paid to do.

So I do not feel the need to be " Careful" Everton are his employer and we have every right to cash in on our comodity. So what I want is for him to repay the the faith shown in him and all that we've done for him. I don't hate him and won't boo him on his return to Goodison, he's just another mercenary who makes this game the rancid business it has evolved into.

The "careful" remark was a direct response to those small minded people on here who feel the need to bring his religion into question. Something about glass houses comes to mind. Sure, we have the right to cash in on our commodity but Kenwright and Moyes didn't see it that way. They obviously felt it was better to try an retain the commodity at all costs. It didn't work. We move on.

I'm sure the Bible doesn't say "Drink driving rules" either.

I'll rightfully have a pop at any selfish idiot that attempts to do such a hideous thing.

Case in point above. Hypocritical much?

I'm sick of hearing about this greedy b'stard , I don't know why we are wasting our time talking about this overated player..

What's he ever done for us?...He's a hard worker..Well If I was on his wages I'd be embarassed not to put a graft in..

He will get a wake up call at Chelsea...

Buddy boy. You're about to find out.

I'm having a laugh at those Evertonians who just are steadfast in their opinion that we won't miss him "cause he didn't score lots of goals." Trust me mate. We're gonna miss him and I think we're gonna miss him more than we realize.

It's not that different from the Rooney situation. He is one of our biggest assets. If there's a chance that, having seen what's on the table elsewhere, he decides to sign a new contract with us, then Moyes has to leave the door open. If a deal can't be agreed this window then, if we ostracise him, he'll be sitting on the sidelines until June picking up his wages. We can ill afford that. While he's still with us, we have to keep him onside. I wouldn't have wanted him being anonymous yesterday anyway. We already have Ossie for that! lol

I won't say it's a huge difference from the Rooney situation but it is a good difference. The minute Rooney changed agents, it was the goal from day one to engineer a move away from the club while under contract. Pienaar's agent has done no such thing. He's played his contract down and decline to sign our most recent offer. Meanwhile, he's been very good for us the whole time and the contract issue hasn't gone to his head out on the pitch.

dont have a problem with any of the above mate, the only problem i have is he turned his back on the fans yesterday by not playing in the derby, he could have given us one more shift and went like a hero iin the game that means the most to us, instead he took care of his own intrests and didnt give a stuff about the fans or the club who ar epaying his wages, im sorry i dont want players at the club wih that type of attitude.

I think Mr Charlie of Adam said it best today when he said:

"I am not here to speak about speculation," said Adam. "There is nothing I can say on it.

"Is it hard to concentrate on my game when clubs are putting bids in? No, it is easy.

"At the end of the day I am a footballer and I want to keep playing.

"If anyone has seen the performances I have had over the last month or so, then they will know the sp
eculation has not derailed me."

...and as I said in my original post, that's more than fair for the supporters to be upset that he didn't play yesterday. For me, that's been the only issue I've had with him during this whole deal. I mean if he's going to give 100% every match up till now, why couldn't he give us one more yesterday. My opinion is that he would have made a difference on the pitch.

Great player, Moyes has said that he thought he wanted out at the start of the season so really we should've sold him then. This is Everton's fault as much as Pienaar or his agent.

Thanks Steven and bye

I guess if we're assigning blame, then yeah, in hindsight, we should have sold him in the summer.

I mean with regards to whether the fans would accept Pienaar back or not. If he turned round tomorrow and said that he wanted to stay, I think most people would be pretty pleased.
