I keep telling myself that but, alas, even in my blue tinted glasses I fear the worst. And if we go down I reckon that will shelve the BMD build. One step forward, four steps back. The Everton way!
We are 6 points off 5th, that’s how tight it is and we have more than enough quality to climb the table once Marco has been binned

What do you make of 14 points from 14 games?
Awful and he needs to be fired, now if the board say he’s here until the end of the season then I’d be worried, but he’s not going to be is he?

This time next week he’ll be gone maybe even today

The performance yesterday was as far from the performance of a relegation threatened team as you can get.
If we played like that on a regular basis the managers position would not be in doubt... which leads to the question why we do not play like that more often?

We really don't have that much quality in this side. We also have a lack of fight and leadership and perhaps worst of all, this side really doesn't inspire the crowd to get up for games and make the ground nasty for away teams. Problems.

I agree with this. I do think we have a few quality individuals though. Just not suited to our set up under a dour manager like Silva. But overall I do agree there’s zero fight or determination from the team in general.

Doesn’t help having a dour lacklustre manager and a captain who is in and out of the team and doesn’t do much himself when he’s selected to play.

This is the problem; when we play Leicester, and Liverpool on Wednesday, we raise our game and play just below their level, and lose. When we play Norwich/Sheffield United et al, we play on their level, and lose.

Do we?

We currently have a spine of youngsters (due to a combo of long term injuries and a lack of options) who will probably not even be good enough when they are fully developed.

6 points doesn't sound that much but when are we going to see 6 points any time soon?

I think we will be OK in the end but currently I am seeing zero cause for any kind of optimism. We are awful.

Right now we are mate, I'd call it disjointed, unorganized, players not knowing their role, unmotivated.
A new manager changes those easy things and we'll improve greatly.

The optimism will be once Silva has been put out of his misery. I know it’s grim right now but it won’t last we will move up soon. We still have a core of good players that are far better than the likes of teams sitting in 7/8/9th right now.
