I think fans are weary of more than Silva.
I know I am.
If only this entire mess was down to just one man, the football manager. Just swap him out and all is fixed.
Unfortunately, Everton's festering wounds are much deeper. We are witnessing the result of years, even decades of mismanagement and neglect from the top.
It's so easy to blame the hired hand for his deficiencies, but surely all fingers should point to the ones who hired him in the first place. Do they even read the CVs of these failures or do they just look at salary expectations and measure that against a fancy foreign name or, in the case of Allardyce, simply panic hire?
A company is only as good as its employees, and those are a direct reflection of their employer's discernment.
Speaking of discernment: Brands has fallen well short of his promised discernment and expertise. Yes, it is a long term project, to paraphrase the man himself, but there are some pretty obvious mistakes, errors or just incompetencies evidenced by not just what the fans point out, but also journalist now writing in major news outlets. Talk about amateur hour.
So, yes, weary of more than just Silva.
