Pienaar Signs for Spurs...

I'm sad to hear this. This is down to greed yet again.... As good as Pienaar has been for us, he wouldn't sign a new deal and wouldn't commit to the club. He wants to be playing in Europe and Everton can't really give him that promise this season after the poor start we've had.

I believe that Chelsea & Spurs are in for him so I would take the money before he goes free on the Bosman ruling!

Sad to see him go but why try and keep a player that's not commited fully to the club.

UEFA's regulations actually do place limitations on what “related companies” can offer financially in terms of sponsorship. So that's a gonner.

It'll be a limit associated with "affliated companies" (i.e. a defined % share holdings). They will look at EVERY suspicious sponsorship, share deal, corporate boxing, naming rights - EVERYTHING in the club's accounts.

They can probably try and get round it... but the regulators UEFA (and their lawyers) are determined this era of over-leveraging and the advantage of English clubs - is coming to an end.

Anyone not complying can kiss bye bye to Champions League football.

we wll in fact just have to wait and see wont we!!

cuz uefa never EVER bend the rules for there darlings do they! nope NEVER!

They have to. Football's literally going bust if they don't. Wages are increasing faster than Sponsorship and TV money.

FACT.

If they don't by 2018 many clubs will go bankrupt if they don't systematically curtail spending across Europe.

they HAVE to do **** all mate!

They do if all the club's a forced to shut down. Bye bye Champions League. Bye bye Football.

Bye bye UEFA.

They have to. They're being pressured by governments via the EU Commission to do so too.

You have a lot to learn lad.

Matt, you think UEFA will really ban the top
Clubs because of the debts they have? How will the smaller clubs qualify without the financial muscle? Youth? Is that the hope?

UEFA's got the EU commission on their backs.

The Commission's 2007 White Paper on Sport and Action Plan underlined that robust licensing systems for professional clubs "promote good governance in sport" and that more efforts should be focused on their implementation and gradual reinforcement.

BASICALLY (for Fozzy)

This means the EU commission's given UEFA the opportunity - TO SELF REGULATE.

If they don't the EU commission will take them to court to get them to enforce POLICY.

FACT.

And in answer to Bryan. We'll have a return to SKILL being the premium and developing youth yes.

And Everton are in a good position to do this - thanks to FINCH FARM and Moyes.

FINCH FARM is state of the art and one of the best facilities in Europe.

we will see how much it changes wont we mate!

pass over that crystal ball when your done with it mate!

ok im not sticking up for him here but ok it probs is most defo about money but then again hes not exactly leaving the club with a glutten of silverware either is he!

inter, bayern, chelski and yes even spuds he will have a far greater chance of silverware than here at the mo!

so maybe just maybe its not all greed!

So by your reckoning ,if every decent player left thier team to win silverware we´d be left with 6 teams in each country with a 1000 players each. Loyalty come in to the equasion at all?

PMSL at Damon's new hobby horse: the Uefa's Finacial Fairplay Regulations.

Yes, that's right mate. Limiting clubs to overshoot their outgoings to 'just' €45M over and above what they earn for the next three seasons is going to really even the playing field out.

No way forward for Everton with that 'silver bullet'; we need new owners - E N D_O F_S T O R Y.

I agree we need INVESTMENT - for INFRASTRUCTURE.

But your criticisms on me and regulatory issues is like someone pissing in the wind. i.e. embarrassing
