All this talk about Poch, Benitez is silly. We left the big club category a good few years ago. Palace and similar are now our rivals or equals. It is not that hard to take when you get used to it.

How many times have Palace finished above us in the past 20 years?

Obviously not counting the years where they finished in a higher position, but in the league below.
 
Benitez isnt a top manager tho.

He joined Newcastle, he went to China.

Those are not the traits of a top manager.

Meaningless.

What we did 35 years ago means nothing in this generation of football. We are one of the giants of the English game but that isn't going to attract the big name players managers and sponsors.

We are on the level of those clubs now. More so as that's where we finish, we are currently competing with them for mid table and have done for a number of years now.
