ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The gap is too big and City have big problems defensively, so they can't consistently pick up points.

It's over.
The only people saying its over are Evertonians. Chill out Tubes. Haven't you gotten use to them slipping up every single season for the past 30 years, whats so different about this year? You keep hoping it will be City, why not Chelsea?

You underestimate their proven record of blowing it, not the unproven record of winning leagues. I absolutely agree they look unstoppable, but they have history of imploding, and i'm alright with that

14 games in 6 weeks really isn't a big deal...

Add to that Sky & BT have sorted them out again this Christmas with their fixtures (same favouritism was shown last Christmas)

Man City play Dec 27, 29 & Jan 1
Liverpool play Dec 26, 29 & Jan 2

Obviously meaning Liverpools Xmas games are spread over an extra 2 days than Citys are...

Seems to be a lot being made of it but it's mainly Sat/Sun games and a midweek game throughout that period. Given that CL group games are often dead rubbers, two of the games are League Cup or World Club Cup and like you say there's the spacing around the festive period where they get the rub of the green again and other clubs, such as City, will have a more crowded fixture pile up it shouldn't be a massive problem.

The fairest and most knowlegeable football fans in the world booing an opposition player (who used to be revered by the same fairest, most knowlegeable football fans in the world when he played for their team) every time he had the ball. How embarrasing is that?

Imagine the reception Klopp will get when he returns to Anfield with his new European club.

Can you help me on this mate, or anyone else for that matter. Was the TAA handball not given because they said there was a handball by Silva just before it? that is what they said on MOM. If this is the case it is a free kick to Liverpool is it not? If so the ref plays advantage and play goes on, but in playing advantage TAA handles the ball, so its a penalty to City. Have I missed something? It is either the scenario I have just given or they're saying TAA never handled the ball, which is ludicrous. His hand ball in the second half was a penalty too.
On MOM they said it would have been a brave man to overturn the Liverpool goal? Whatever happened to getting the decision right.
Please help someone cause I don't understand the game anymore.

The official wording from the Premier league was that Alexander-Arnold's arm was not in an unnatural position, and that players deserve extra leeway on handballs where a ricochet is involved. Of course, this is absolutely wham as the Premier league also came out with an official reason why Son was sent off against us, and the FA thought that reason was a load of bubbles and overruled it. If the FA could retrospectively give pens and scratch goals like they can with red cards, they probably would have overruled this as well.

My biggest issue with it was the amount of time it took to decide he didn't handle it. It was literally seconds and totally inconsistent with all VAR reviews so far this season. Something really stinks about this.

they also said Ali's hand wasn't in an unnatural position when he handled at Goodison last week. Corrupt mate, has to be.

They have the added bonus of legal match fixing with VAR this time.

And I don't think Chelsea and Leicester are anywhere near good enough.

need a really bad run/injuries now..hopefully pressure will get to them, but i have accepted it now..at least there are clubs near them so hopefully there wont be a period of dominance..i also have a feeling klopp might leave at end of season if they win the league

If these win the league I wonder will we up the pressure on Moshiri and co, it’s been a shambles for too long and harder to go to the game and support the team season after season.

I will.

I hate that shower as much as anyone but it's embarrassing. Grown men thinking that's a good shout. It's small time.
Today I identify as an Everton supporter, you do too right.
I'll tell you what's small time. Going on another clubs supporters forum and getting annoyed when you see your team getting a bit of verbal.

I've identified as an Everton supporter for the last 33 years.

And what you're saying is small time, yet I've not done that. Very weird. Point scoring over the [Poor language removed] over the death of people. It's pathetic lads.

Keith Hackett, the ex top referee, writing for The Telegraph Sport says that City should have had a penalty before Liverpool scored, when the hand-ball clearly prevented the ball reaching a City player at the back post. It would appear that the media, referee's, the football establishment, all want Liverpool to win the league. You can now add VAR to that.

Obviously they're favourites but bigger leads than this have been blown. Newcastle in 1996 and Man U in 1998 spring to mind.

Chelsea are getting stronger, City may spend in January and Leicester are up there. Nobody has ever won the league in November. I reckon there will be another twist in this somewhere.

Thats madness. As you say., they did it all season last season, making sure they had the max recovery time compared to city.

Blatant dodgyness going on here
