Genuinely mad that Paul Joyce has sat down in the office today and penned a piece about a winger on his patch being theatrical and it somehow is not the one who got booked for diving this weekend.

I think everybody would agree with that, but that doesn't (well shouldn't) mean he shouldn't have won two penalties in the last two games.

Narrative is a weird thing, as well. The media seem to have laughed off Guardiola's comments about Mane, and I remember them driving that Zaha needed more protection, yet our tricky winger is being lambasted.

Baffles me that Silva (or even Brands) hasn't been ranting to the nearest journo with a microphone after the last few matches where suspect refereeing decisions have (or in the case of West Ham could have) affected the way the game has panned out negatively for us. Most clubs wouldn't stand for it but we do. We need to get a better control over the narrative because referees are bound to be swayed by it.

Referees should judge each incident on its’ merits, and shouldn’t let prior incidents influence their decisions.

But, they’re human beings and that’s how we work, we use induction from previous experience to predict cause and effect.

But, he’s being bizarrely singled out by pundits, commentators, and now Joyce as if he’s one of the worse offenders, which clearly he’s not.

Reminds me of when Andy Johnson couldn’t get a decision his way, after Wenger called him out as a diver.

He does fall over far too easy for me, it’s embarrassing and he’s doing himself a disservice. I don’t mind him being called out, my problem is if he is then the press should call out others too.

It’s the cherry picking that irks people more than anything. Some disingenuous folk in that industry to say the least.

His antics are why he shouldn't be up top, he can't hold the ball up he just ends up on his arse if the defender gets tight. He's a wide forward, better at running forward than back to goal.

That being said, the diving thing is rightly or wrongly part and parcel of pro football, he's just not very good at it.

One thing I'll never understand is English clubs wanting to point out the flaws of their best players all the time as we are with Richarlison. It's the same thing United do with Pogba. The best players aren't the problem.

He needs to be told by the manager to stop acting like a five year old throwing a tantrum, how many times on Sunday? acting dead, when there is nothing wrong with him,and when he gets up and runs around immediately, proving there was nothing wrong with him. There are plenty of cheats in football and Richarlison is one of them. He must be the only one who rarely gets anything from his play acting but still carries on doing it. Wise up lad for God’s sake.

Silva won’t tell him to stop there father and son. Its the way he goes down is the problem to much like getting shot. best example is Davies he get free kicks often even when they aren’t because he goes down more natural. It’s what I like about Davies will always get your free kicks even tho we waste most of them. Richarlison needs to be smart and go down when proper contact not just every time he gets slight touch. When he stays up you can’t get him of the ball he is so strong and just persistent. This is the Richarlison we all want to see Moreno often.

But when players are increasingly in the practice of trying to buy calls from the referee, it becomes much more difficult for them to "judge each incident on its merits". When you constantly are being tricked into thinking something is a foul and getting lambasted for it, you then begin to have a "book" on players that are repeat offenders.

All of this will change once Richy stops the theatrics, end of. Then he'll start to the get the benefit of the doubt on calls. Even many of our own supporters aren't really sure what to make of many of the times he's rolling on the floor. I'm sure some of them are legitimate. But some are not, and may look exactly the same to the Ref
