Swansea did well while Sig was with them. With Bony they got to Europe.
After Sig left their form dropped sharply and they got relegated.

Their whole team was set up for him and what are we talking like three years ago now. We need to realise he is a squad player now until or if he steps up. His technique with strikes might be good but he isn't involved enough and his form is crap.

They finished 17th in his last season there. They were at their peak around 2012/13, after Sigurdsson signed they were on a gradual decline from that point.

You can debate whether Silva has made some players better or worse but there is no doubt when it comes to Sig, its worse.

The role he asked to play is simply nonsensical.
Is like Silva just watched the Swansea youtube highlights with him and Bony and went ok I'll put him behnd the lone striker.

But Swansea played completely different and where they struggled with Sig qualities, well Silva struggles in the same way. Ive had major issues all along with this. I dont think Ive watched a match simve Silva arrived where I havent cursed both Silva and Gylfi for whats going on.

But this is layed at the feet of Silva. Gylfi is clearly following Silva instructions and its clear he not suited to them/doesnt believe in them. He keeps on playing to them but you can see he knows its stupid and his heart and head arwnt into it. This is why he is petceived as slow and lazy - but he really isnt. He's not Bernard quick, but then Bernard is not Gylfi quick. Same goes for skills.

A good coach would know how to get his two most skillful players to compliment each other. Ie give the team a chance. He has utterly failed to do this so far.

There are no excuses here. Silva came to the club knowing Gylfi was the marquee. If he didnt fit with his intended tactics he had three options 1. drop him - poor decision. 2. coach/manage him to play a diff role and if that doesnt work drop him - better decision 3. Dont come to the club in the first place - best decision in hindsight.

There is only one way to play Gylfi in this side and thats as a box to box. He has to play deeper. If he cant hack the work rate, if he cant put in the defensive yakka, if it doesnt work them drop him...sell him
But ffs at least have given it a go.

Hes clearly got talent but he’s not what we need presently. We need to be more combative in midfield and we need more pace at the top of the pitch. Without Gana we need to play 3 midfield away from home. Maybe look at Richarlison and kean up top and drop Iwobi in as a false 9. Give Delph and Davies a run in a 3 along side Gomes. Play a bit more long ball and press. I’m no expert but our transition with siggardson is too slow we are generally playing in front of a team instead of playing counter attack which we seemed to thrive on last season.

They were relegated because they relied on him and didn’t have a team in place once he left. That is what happens when you put your eggs in one basket. We’d be foolish to do the same.

yes I'm sure he was carrying the other 10 guys on his back due to his incredible skill and not due to the fact that they literally built the team around his strengths. he may as well take set pieces from a wheelchair

the part you're missing is that Silva has no choice but to use Gylfi that way because it's THE ONLY WAY HE CAN PLAY. he can't play deeper anymore than Pickford can play CF. you do come around though, he can't hack it and has to go

Regardless of how he's coached and played etc. Hes supposed to be a set piece specialist. I genuinely can not remember a free kick or corner from him that's lead to something.

I agree with what you are saying, he’s not providing any ammunition for the forward and not causing enough problems for the midfield or defenders. He’s simply not doing it.

Once again, Iceland is built around him. Everton doesn't want to play a slow meandering style. He's useless and I wish him well.
