If Silva changes the side to any degree and part of that is bringing Sigurdsson into the team then he deserves to be sacked for that alone.

Exactly. Gomes and Iwobi were the hub of the wheel, essentially. Everywhere they needed to be and central at distributing around the pitch.
Something else interesting I observed. Our reliance on crosses dropped by about 90%. We created from all parts of the pitch, including the middle. Which made the attack so much less predictable that West Ham was off-kilter all match.
Great goal from Gylfi, but no one deserves to lose their place for Brighton next week.
Completely the right decision to drop him. And we should stick with Iwobi.
