Well that hypothetical can’t happen because he would have awarded the penalty before blowing the whistle. The whistle is key. It’s why they tell the line refs to NOT call the offside if it’s at all close, so VAR can review it.

Fair play,a good win,a very good team effort and 2 great goals. Going for Walcott as m.o.m. Needless to say this is the performance we want to see every game. Will it happen? I hope so but will not be holding my breath.

Richarlison making a nuisance of himself always at the last third
Iwobi deft bake and turn off-balancing the defenders
Bernard's fast pace probes into the heart (and love his corner kicks)
Sidibi steady and mature plays down the line
Gomez manning the midfield, bossing everyone out of his ways
Pickford with his timely saves
Digne playing to his norm
Walcott, rediscovering his paces in a fast pace game that suited him
Minna and Kean help keeping a clean sheet
And Marco - hopefully realise this is what we want and doesn't fall back to pleasing benchers in upcoming gsmes, it's his axx on the line!!

I'm halfway through a 7 hour drive from Bristol, Tennessee to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The mobile signal has been patchy at best and I forgot about the early kick off. I finally managed to get a connection and looked in to get the team news only to find out the game had already been played! Sounds like it was a good performance.
