* is sad at excitement at potential £500k signing between us or wolves*

When I think back on what we paid for Coleman, Cahill, and others I'm not too arsed about the figure. If there's one thing Moyes is good at, it's evaluating players from the lower leagues and projecting them at our level. Cahill, Gosling, Lescott, the list goes on.

Doesn't deserve to be on that list

Yeah Gosling still hasn't made it. He scored a couple of very important goals for us, but really he always looked quite average. Not much pace, not much skill, not great defensively... in fact I didn't care when he left per se, it was just that we lost out on some cash.

Spencer, Lucaswaskimajig?

A pacey winger? Surely not! Can't say I've ever heard of him but then again I barely pay attention to any football that doesn't involve Everton. Sounds promsing though...

i actually have a figure of 5.5 million as the ideal top rate for our transfers.

anything spent on a player below and up to that mark is either going to be a success or at worst will not be much of a loss.

anything above 5.5 million and we should be getting the finished article or theres a chance the move is not going to be a success + we will make a huge loss.

The fact that people thought he was worth money proves Moyes was right. Personally I didn't think he fit into our team, but that doesn't mean he won't be a player.

What is the word from LCAB on this. I have seen his posts but I don't understand a word of it with all the slang - sorry LCAB not my intention to critise you at all, but as you know I'm always interested in knowing the inside on things and I really don't understand half of your posts.

We're trying to do some things but have no money, so it's very difficult. We can maybe afford 500k for Hammill, but nothing has happened yet.

Just like Adam, Hammill is another who I'm hoping we get. I love it when Moyes buys players from the lower leagues, here his track record is unsurpassed. That he is a young local lad is just great as well.

Dunno if anyone else posted this (They hadn't on the first few pages). - Thanks to The Star

But Hammill is believed to have a £500,000 buy-out clause in his three-year contract which is due to expire in August 2012 and could attract a £1 million plus price tag if he were to leave Oakwell.

and an official statement from the manager

"There has been interest from one or two clubs, but that's out of my control now. If he decisdes to leave and a club come up with the right money I guess he will go and speak to them."
