...I know all that. I’m just not seeing the things I expect from a player with exceptional promise. I truly want him to be very good, I just want to see a spark of brilliance.

Some young players have it from day 1....wayne rooney....this is rare...

With some it takes a few years.... I'll use Harry Kane as an example...
Kean is 19...at 19, Kane was being loaned out to Norwich and then Leicester (neither Premier league teams at the time)....his first season in the Premier league with spurs was at age 20, he scored 3 goals from 10 appearances..... It was the following season when Kane kicked on and started to show the player he truly was...

We need to be patient with Kean, he's already playing at a level most players his age are not... We didn't buy him for this season, or even for next...but if we treat him right, and coach him right, and fans don't get on his back when he makes mistakes, then we might just have a top player in a couple of years...

....i’m sure he was bought to provide an immediate impact, certainly not with 2 years in mind. He’s not an Academy recruit, he’s a full international for Italy. He’s got the physicality, pace and power to cope, i’ll be a lot happier when I see the ‘wow’ moment.

I trust Brands judgement, so will certainly not give up on the lad.

If he was in Dom's place when Gylfi slid him through yesterday then we would see more of what he's about. In retrospect we could have done with a more experienced striker as well.

And why did silva agree to spend all that cash on a striker if his plan is to bring him on for the last 15 mins of games.?

We bought the player we hope he will become in 2 years time.... And if he is as good as we hope he can be, had we waited 2 years for some other club to develop him, we wouldn't be able to afford him...

Our only hope of competing with the top clubs, is by building a good young team....so it will take time...the hardest player to find is a striker, Kean looks a good prospect so 30m was worth the gamble...no point playing him now every week (when he's not ready) and destroying his confidence...

Also don't forget, he's 19 and has just moved country for his new job... He spoke limited English when he arrived so needs to learn a new language so he can properly settle into the country and the team

I think there's other factors to consider...particularly moving to a new league in a country where you don't speak the language.... Big change for a kid...takes time to settle into a new city, and to become happy....

Anomaly. For every Henry, there’s a Rashford too.
You wouldn't take rashford?
Also taking a look at the vermin, they play with firmino as the advanced forward using his linkup to bring in salah and mane off the wings,
Could we do similar with gylfi furthest forward and richy and Keane/ Bernard/iwobi either side of him? Or even put iwobi up top to do the same job?

...yep, I agree with all that. I just want him to produce a ‘that’ll do me moment’.

He’s got everything we need from a physicality perspective and looks like he can scare defenders by running at them.

And by then, we will be in the first division with Salford and Sunderland.
