Before any moans about VAR, football is the only sport to become worse after introducing technology, every other sport has thrived.

Football is not suited to VAR the way other sports are.....which is is what many people tried warning those proponents of VAR whom are now the very people most alarmed at how this “artificial intelligence” is now having a very detrimental effect on the game.

It only really works when the technology obviously highlights something that could not be seen in real time. If you still have to have humans debating what the VAR is showing, like something extremely marginal, then it is pointless, and should just go to the official's original decision.
The thing that bothers me the most is the lack of transparency. We, the spectators, need to see and hear how a decision is reached. Do they see all the angles as we do (from a TV feed)? If not, then why not?

The only obvious thing about VAR is its adding to the confusion, no one seems to understand when and what it can be used for and seems to change weekly, and as ive said a million times, its still just a person watching a screen making up what he thinks is right or wrong which will always be subjective-one foul one week will be given while the next week by a different VAR wont etc, it will never be 100% ever-i would have not have had it,and would get rid of it-Refs are scared to do anything probably thinking VAR will help them while at other times VAR is not used when some stuff is so clear

It's been my option from the beginning that it should only be used for offsides and whether or not a challenge (which the referee considers to be a foul) is in or out of the box. Whilst mistakes will still happen the correct decision should be made in such scenarios 95+% of the time. Everything else is far too subjective. It seems like they've jumped the gun without phasing it in step by step.

I can’t believe I am saying this but Jaime Carragher made a good point today about the Chelsea VAR.

He thinks the offside rule should be changed so a player’s whole body should be in an offside position, not merely his big toe or his nose as it is at present.

These pedantic offsides are what is annoying people most.

Whatever happened to the sensible idea of the “attacker having the benefit of the doubt”?

There was an incorrect offside in the second half where Liverpool got into a very good position but the flag went straight up. Happy as I was that happened, it´s completely wrong, let the game play out in scenarios like that and then go back to check it.

I think VAR can be positive for the game overall but in it's current state it's poor. Not even talking about Mason Mount being offside because he was it's more that Arsenal blatant handball not being given because they don't want to over rule the ref......what's the point then?

That handball was blatant. What's the point of it if they aren't giving a penalty there? Or is it more related to the fact it was Arsenal at home and Jon Moss is a coward when it comes to giving anything against one of the popular teams...

Its such a load of nonsense. Even if they get the VAR decisions right is still doesn't make the game any fairer because there could be 50 dodgy decisions all over the pitch that don't get reviewed because the game is flowing.

Fans need to unite against it.

That is why VAR is so unsuitable for football.

Imagine a throw in is wrongly given to a defending team near their own goal line.

From the throw in, the ball is hoofed up the pitch and their striker scores from it.

Other sports aren't so free flowing ergo they are more suited to VAR.

Completely agree with that about offside tbf. The rule is tired

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but VAR is hogging all the headlines this season and will continue to do so.
We are talking less about football and more about this extremely flawed technology.
Enough said my friends.
