Sorry mate, but other than Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham, you'll struggle to name a starting eleven in any other squad in the league better than ours. We should be pushing top six (with a degree of ease), and with a fair wind pushing the top five. I'm a big fan of our squad, without the blue-tinted goggles on it's still a very talented bunch of players.

You can add Liverpool to that list - even now 'on the floor' they're getting better results than us, and their squad are way better than they've performed this season. All of which adds up to what I said: we're a mid-table outfit...or we will be when we get scoring again. You can talk all day about getting a new manager in to replace Moyes but the fundamental problems will remain the same.

Liverpool's squad better than ours?

No way.

Reina, Gerrard and Torres are the only players they have who would even get on our bench.

Looking at their squad I'd only have Gerrard and Torres in. Being serious too. The difference is that teams try and grab a point off Liverpool because of their reputation instead of believing they can win.

Reputation and fear aside, Liverpools team is [Poor language removed].

Under another manager, or with Moyes showing a bit of bottle, we have a very good squad, which is why I don't think we'll go down this season - in fact, I think we'll finish 8th-10th, which is still underachieving.

Let's not get stuck on reputations? Who would the teams above us and around us fete out of our team? Fellaini, Baines, Cahill, Pienaar, Jagielka, Rodwell. Yep. The rest wouldn't be rated or else would be seen as no better than they have. Our midfield is very strong but elsewhere we're lacking real top quality.

Moyes has the option of turning the clock back and making us less of a passing team and more meat and potatoes and harder to beat, but he doesn't have the resources to add quality all over the pitch that can make us a force.

Again: there's big questions that need answering and fixating on Moyes' use of Saha rather than Yakubu, Arteta rather than Rodwell etc etc, though understandable, misses the point by a country mile.

Ask someone at the club why they have - in a lily-livered fashion - disabled just about every front page discussion. Are we, those that pay the players' wages, not allowed to air our disgust at the present inertia within the management and playing staff and the poor performances and results? Or are they just worried we'll go OTT and they'll have to pay someone to come in on a Sunday to stem the tide. If Canute can't set the sea back I'm damn sure (or is that shore?) Davy Moyes can't either - no matter how many miracles he's pulled off over the years.

They should at least provide a thumbs down option as a response to the Pravda articles.

Lots of big words and bullet points here, can you post some boobs so I can relate please?

I personally agree with DaveK's overall point.

He's following the logic as far as i'm concerned. And he's putting a good case forward.

I'm going to put myself out there and say this whole "we have a better squad now, than before Bill arrived..." is a myth.

The quality of the average Premier League player and team, increases every year. We are just about keeping up.

Yes, we have better players than years ago if we were to compare them stat for stat, but so has every other club in the League. Effectively cancelling this out.

When we finished 4th, that particular squad was good enough in comparison to other Prem teams to do that. At that time.

Name one premier league club that has a poorer team than 4,5 or 6 years ago that is still here???

Arsenal? i'd trade our league position with them in a flash.

Chelsea you say? same, Man U? same.

Players are only as good as they are playing right now, in my book. We have fancy names, but there are lot's of relatively 'low key' or 'unheard of players' currently showing us the standard, and some of our 'big names' don't seem upto it...

Maybe we just aren't as good as we think..????

Hit me.

Although it's fair to say we have better quality players now who are certainly underperforming, I think you are quite right in your then and now comparison. There are so called lesser teams playing better football than us at the moment with less well known players and I will therefore withdraw my left hook.
