As annoying as it is, this game could be played anywhere on the planet and the locals would turn out in numbers in "support" for them. Happy accident, great marketing, combination of both most likely, but never in the history of sport has a franchise, (I love calling them that), been so successful in cultivating a global brand that is inverse to their actual domestic success.
