Oxlade Chamberlain in a decent Liverpool team in 17/18 got 3 goals and 5 assists in 32 games, Iwobi in a poor Arsenal team got 3 goals and 5 assists in 25 games. Perspective. Oxlaide looks/looked quite good for them lot, Iwobi could be good for us if it happens. Don't go mad just because it's not the name you've convinced yourself we need/want.

Yeah I agree about lookman but a lot of us feel Walcott isn’t all that too so would have liked a winger. An we do have a good start to the season. Hopefully we can get as many points as possible an build the confidence an if we start like we finished last season we are in for a good season. I just don’t feel like we have the squad depth to challenge the top 6 but I hope am wrong.

Utd fans are complaining that theyve sold lukaku and not replaced him up front. Theyve got rashford, martial and Sanchez who can play there. The clubs ahead of us have far more squad depth no doubt, but we were never going to go from having a squad largely composed of fecking useless high earners to a squad that could compete immediately with the likes of utd just in one or two windows under brands and silva. That's an unrealistic expectation based on the number of players we need to bring in and move on. Our starting 11 last season had: digne, zouma, gomes, richarlison, bernard as new players coming in and working their way into being automatic starters. We had a first 11 that could compete with the top 6 last season, my opinion is we will continue that this season but yes we have lost gueye and zouma and are light at the back. Who knows though, perhaps sidibe is a competent stand in centre back? Brands and silva know more about the players capabilities than us, they did a stellar job last season so think they're earnt a bit of slack going into this one tbh.
