2018/19 Kurt Zouma

I would assume only Chelsea and Everton transfer people, And Zouma himself, really know what is going on. Would love it to be true, but I cannot see it.

It doesn't matter how good the rest of the team is - if you have one centre half who is struggling, that can bring down the whole thing

I think we currently have a bit of a problem in this area - Mina has not yet adapted to the prem and may never do

I'm presuming Zouma is not available. If he is, obviously great...

Otherwise, someone like Smalling would be a helpful signing for us I think

I understand Gbamin also plays at centre back, which could also be helpful. He is unproven and needs time to adapt to the prem however

Smalling is ok ish till he needs to defend in the box and with the introduction of VAR he is a penalty waiting to be awarded at every set play. Simply put he gets the wrong side and a s a consequence commits offences that will be given whereas in the past the ref alone had so many things to look at he often missed what Smalling was up to.

CD is an area that should have been sorted weeks ago and the only justification for delay would be that Zouma ships up but with around 100 hours of the transfer window left that likelihood is reducing by the minute

Yep, he has.

Definitely mate. Very good defender.
Interesting...

Silva clearly didn't rate him as highly as Keane or Zouma, otherwise he would have picked him. Playing for Colombia is a different kettle of fish to the prem

See some media commentary on the man:

'For a player who on paper looks like an archetypal Premier League centre-back, the Colombian struggled massively to cope with the physical demands of English football – his stark lack of pace proving to be a serious handicap....

Mina continues to be an overwhelmingly popular figure in Colombia and impressed once again with the national team at this year’s Copa America....

In the case of Man United, Mina is one their most expensive dodged bullets in recent years and, if nothing, proves there is some method to the madness of Woodward after all.

It remains to be seen whether Everton will give the Colombian another chance or cut their losses on a player who they forked out almost £30million on just 12 months ago'

He was injured for a good part of the season, yet they make no mention of that.

He ain’t going anywhere.
