I too watched the game . Salzburg are no mugs their energy and fitness shone through.Their high press would cause a lot of PL teams problems and the fact that they in effect played a new team in each half enabled them to maintain that high energy press deeper into the game than would normally be the case.
Most of RB shots were wayward I think had far more on target . Missing Kante shielding was a huge miss for them. None of the the CD who featured for Chelsea are better than Rudiger. Zouma for me looked like a rabbit caught in headlights his positional awareness was terrible and his inability to play quick and accurate short passes was there for all to see. On numerous occasions Luizand Azpilicueta were having words.
Irrespective until they replaced three of the back four they were 4-1 up.Then Zappacosta and Zouma get caught out penalty 4-2 they then went 5-2 up then a long ball exposed Tomori and Zouma who was drawn to the ball rather than taking up a covering position.
Christensen came on but significantly didn’t go into the back 4. Zouma stayed on. I thought that was a statement that Zouma either needs to spend as much time as possible working on his game or Lampard is still far from convinced if that’s the case even at this late stage I think there is a possibility if they get a decent offer they will let him go.
Personally I don’t read too much into PSF there are far too many changes of personnel as a game proceeds players for whatever reason don’t go full tilt , referees don’t hand out cards in a same way. Indeed If I did get too concerned I think the PSF results delivered by Everton would be setting all sorts of alarm bells ringing.
