He's 26, nearly 27 and we could probably get 3-5 good years out of him

Are you suggesting at 29 he's going to be "not good" even at 32 he'd still be a starter, Ronaldo is 34 and still considered the best player in the world.

This isn't FM players don't just die psychically at 30, 26 is still a decently young player and he will be hitting his prime soon.

Just don't get the negativity.
Zaha would be great.
He took Palace to another level last season.
He would do the same for the Blues.
To have him on one wing, Richarlison on the other, supported by Digne and Coleman..
well thats as good as any wing setup in the PL.

Its a chance for a good shot at the top 6.
Just don't get it.
He'll create space for the team to play in.
He'll give the team drive
He'll take the focus off Richarlison and in doing so make him much more effective.
Agree 100%
There's a reason why Silva & Brands want him

Really pleased we're trying for this.

Serious signing if it comes off.

There's no way this would be instead of a striker. Silva said he wants 5 (I assume one will be a Gana replacement) so a striker simply has to be on the list.

No, I'm saying that the majority of players, particularly wingers who rely on pace etc will be declining once they're past 32 or so

I'm not saying that applies to everyone, but it's relatively fair I would suggest

If we were paying €70m for a 23 year old, I'd get it more because you get 3 years and then you've got a player you can still get a huge fee for

This would presumably be Zaha's final "big" move, so for a team like us where we cant really afford to buy players in their prime as we need to be mindful of what we can sell them for, it seems like a big deviation from the "plan".

Again, I really like him as a player. I think he's tremendous and in many ways I'd be made up to have him here, but it doesn't make sense for lots of reasons too.
