Yeah, I was the same. I read the esk’s stuff and he often writes very well, but I couldn’t make out whether that was a very knowing, self-aware bit of irony. Made me laugh a lot though.

This view looks amazing, stands close to the pitch and steep looking stands, should be a very intimidating stadium

Love this pic. Inside without the crowd it doesn't look that steep. With the crowd, it looks so enclosed and tight. Brilliant work all round.

Just look at the size of the concourses in the warehouse style buildings. Can't wait to see pictures that show what it will be like for the everyday punter. Let's hope there is a bar that runs the entire width of that home end and after buying your pint you step out onto the balcony section on a warm, sunny Saturday in May looking back at the three graces. We'll know we have made it when that happens.

Everton are building a great new stadium without spoiling the city skyline, trashing the local area or turfing long-standing residents out of their homes.
Oh, and a great legacy in the Goodison Park area too.
Everton in the community now and into the future.
