Same as last season bar Delph for Gana and Penno for Zouma

Again Delph is not, repeat NOT Gana’s replacement and Penno will be absolutely no where near a first team squad, maybe the bench occasionally for the U23’s or boot boy for the Women’s team

Totally agree, Gana goes he will leave a massive and I mean massive hole in our midfield that’s needs sorting, he gives the midfield something no one else does that we have ENERGY
If you want energy just promote any of the u18 or u23 squad members and watch them run themselves into the ground out there.

While you do that let’s learn how to play smarter not harder where everyone is responsible for doing their bit defensively and a player like Gana becomes obsolete in the side. It’s completely out in left field to suggest that if Gana didn’t play in games that no one else would be able to dispossess the opponent further down the line and that just because Gana wouldn’t be there that the opponents would be able to just have a walk on goal.

Gana was not our defense and to be honest it would be almost harder to play with him. That 1 chance out of 5 he isn’t there to make the tackle when the rest of the defense is so used to him doing so can catch them off guard. Sorta like a goalie not having a shot on net at him all game because the defense has closed everything down thus far preventing the shots and then the one time they do get that simple shot right at him it gets fluffed and put away because he’s expected it this far.

Sell Gana and 1. the defensive number will be made up by the rest of the team, 2. the team will be more aware of each other’s positioning and defensive contributions, 3. we will be able to finally move towards having a consistently functioning midfield box to box

We haven’t had any success and he was relegated with Villa. There are other players out there and other formations
Get all that , it just seems dispiriting to have to go back to the beginning again when the football looked so convincing at the seasons end.
Patience may run out if are faced with another ‘transition season’.

Delph doesn’t have to be a like for like with Gana to replace him

Window shuts TWO weeks on Thursday (8th August). By Thursday, the window will have been open for 10 weeks. Barely 20% of the window to go.

Hell of a lot needs to happen, both incomings and outgoings for this to resemble anywhere close to a respectable window.
Remember outgoingsl to foreign clubs can still happen after August 8. So let's focus on incomings, we probably need about 5 RB, CB, CM, RW and ST. Lookman, Mc C and Gueye sold and one in is my guess for next week unfortunately

Totally mate.
I think Silva had been trying to get Gana to play differently and he was definitely trying to get him to go forward more etc. What he does well he does so at a very high standard but he is limited in some respects. I’ll be sorry to see him go but maybe we can don even better?
