I'm not bothered about VAR working for us against the top sides. I'm bothered about it working for us against everyone else!

Like jags being sent off against wolves, or at Bournemouth when we should of had two pens, west ham when sigurdsson should of had a pen then that lad super kicked Walcott in the face and only got a yellow and Snodgrass did a two foot lunging tackle on Bernard and only got a yellow, Watford when they got a corner that was never a corner and scored from it the list goes on.

That's what I'm hopeing VAR will help us with personally.

Most of what I saw is in jest, but it is actually a crying shame that the people in charge of our team have allowed us to have a strike force of Calvert Lewin, Tosun and Niasse. That's a championship trio and it reflects badly on us. Let's hope we get some improvements in to help Dominic and replace the other two.

The problem with Brands is he wants to negotiate for every penny of every transfer when sometimes you need to just pay the money when you're very weak in a particular area.

Liverpool paid £75 million for Van Dijk and £65 mil for Alison because they were desperate in those positions.

I think this tactic is the reason why Brands has to scrimp.
Would he have paid 45m for Siggy, 20 plus for Klassen and Rooney all in same window?

Everton director of football Marcel Brands has admitted that the club paid over the odds to sign Richarlison from Watford.
The 21-year-old became Marco Silva's first transfer as Toffees boss when he joined from Vicarage Road last month in a deal which could rise to £50m.

Everton were criticised by some fans and pundits for spending such a high amount of money on a player who had not scored since November, leading Silva to defend the outlay on the Brazilian.

However, Brands has now revealed that, due to the lingering animosity at Watford over what they considered "an unwarranted approach" for their former manager, Everton paid over the market value for Richarlison.

"We thought it would be a very difficult one because of the history of the clubs," the Dutchman told The Guardian.


"We were both convinced about him [but] I think with the situation with Watford, we had to pay a little bit more. I think maybe the market value was a little bit lower but, at the end, we are happy with him.

"We think he can be very special. He has a lot of speed, the capability to work; he is strong, he is tall. There are a lot of qualities for all the competitions in Europe. They are important qualities."

Richarlison starred in the Toffees' 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend, netting twice on his competitive debut before leaving the field injured.
