We should give them a buy 2 get one free, they can chose from Martina, Niasse, Mirallas or Schneiderlin.

One of these things is not like the others. Not saying Morgan is a world beater, but he is a few classes above the others. For the right wage he makes a good squad player and if not surely he has some resale value.

Otherwise agree. Tell the barcodes that if they buy McCarthy and Bolasie we will throw in an experienced premier league striker with a tireless work rate, a versatile defender who has played all across the back line with multiple national call ups, or a feisty winger who has scored in the premier league, ligue 1 and serie a - their pick - for free.

But if you aren't good at yours than it doesn't really matter what the other guys are doing. He needs to be good at his job before worrying about anyone else.

Defending is more about working cohesively within a unit than being a great individual.

Holgate is still learning, he’s been away a year in a less demanding team and been able to build his understanding and confidence up. but he would have had little on the job experience staying with us last season. This year, he will be covering CB & RB. Physically he looks slight but it’s more about what’s in between his ears if he’s to push on with us. Definitely a good squad player there already, but I would be hoping this year he cuts out the brain fart moments that naturally he can’t get away with in the Prem.

He played RB in a 3-5-2 and West Brom were a team who had a lot of possession. So he got a bunch of experience playing more or less right midfield and now we are bringing him back to play CB in a 4 man back. He didn't get much experience doing the things that he struggled with and got him loaned out to begin with. I think it was a waste of time except that he at least played somewhere and didn't just sit on our bench.

I know where he played mate. I watched more Championship football than was healthy. I don’t need your over the top analysis.

I also don’t need someone saying that because he played a different position that the loan ‘did nothing for him’.

Which is insane. The absolute fact he was getting first team football in one of the most challenging leagues on earth refutes that and that’s only for starters.

You don’t half come out with some weird thing IGS.

That's fine. My point is when I watch the West Ham game, which was the point where Silva basically made him 5th choice, I see problems very specific to playing CB that arent going to be fixed by playing elsewhere. The experience is good and it certainly beats not playing but I still think we have a player with the same holes in his game as when he left in January with the goal of fixing those holes.

I like Morgan but unfortunately seems a bit of a money pit for us.
