Liverpool improved after selling Coutinho, Ozil was sidelined by Emery, City have moved away from the number 10 role under Guardiola. The two you’ve mentioned play for mid table premier league teams. Dowell has to reach an incredible level to play number 10 in our first team if we want to challenge the top 6.

He needs a massive change in his mentality to have the career his talent deserves.
Personally, I think his chance has gone with us and his future will lie elsewhere.

Can’t see Silva getting the push unless he crashes and burns this season. Dowell needs to light up the championship or it could be curtains as to a first team role here.

It’s certainly possible. I’m being too lazy to look but why did cocu leave psv? Did he fail there or choose to move on?

Edit. I’ve looked now. He went to fenerbache and didn’t last the season there.
