He’s a very decent player, he wouldn’t get games for City if he wasn’t.

Hardly a thrilling signing if it comes off but he’d be a welcome addition to the centre midfield. If we’re keeping Gana then clearly him and Gomes will be first choice so it makes sense to get a back up as opposed to sending big in a position we’re not desperate for.
