Fringe players, not starters in anyway shape or form. When we signed Neville from United, or Gravesen back from Madrid, those were top clubs but not needed players. Umititi is almost a guaranteed starter when fit.

Even you can understand this.

If he can’t stay fit and become a fringe player then there is a chance.

I agree that it’s unlikely he’d join us, but pretty sure he has been overtaken by Lenglet as first choice, even when fit.

Why on earth would we actively choose to sign an incredibly expensive player on massive wages we would know couldn't stay fit?!?

It's not like we play 50+ games a season like Barca, so it would be ok if they could have him fit 50% of the time. We could end up playing only 40 games in all comps next season.

Maybe but it’s hard to judge when Umtiti was out for most of the year. I imagine they’d sell him because of the injuries though.

Pretty much like Zouma when he had the major injury before loaning out to Stoke.

Again, even when fit, Mina wasn't first (second or third) choice. Same as Zouma.

Umititi is a starter as soon as he is fit for one of the best teams in the world. It's completely incomparable.
