On 23 May 2016, Izzo, along with midfielders Luca Pini and Francesco Millesi, was put under investigation by the anti-mafia police department in Naples (DDA) after being accused of being directly involved with a Camorra clan based in Secondigliano in altering the results of the Serie B matches Modena–Avellino (1–0) from 17 March 2014, and Avellino–Reggina (3–0) from 25 May 2014. On 3 March 2017, the Italian Football Federation's prosecutor asked for Izzo to be suspended for six years, also requesting that collateral estoppel be applied, and demanded that he should receive a €20,000 fine. On 12 April, he received an 18-month ban from football and was also fined €50,000.[8][9][10][11][12] On 19 May his ban was reduced to six months.[13]

Italian media seems to chat utter nonsense.

We will regret not going for Tierney. No point whatsoever re signing Baines who’s past it and will hardly play. He’s not exactly going to push baines is he then next summer when he goes ( or re signs knowing us ) we are back to square one looking for a left back

We should be going for young players who can push out first teamers not continuing to re sign oldies

Traore seems to be the name coming up again and again . See. Some posts on here criticizing him. I know absolutely nothing about him be it his football abilities or him as a person but I genuinely trust both Brands and Silva to target the right type of player, both in football ability and personality. So instead of criticizing the choices they make let’s row in behind them . This season could be a very very interesting one as a blues fan .. Whoever does come in and whoever does go out let’s support the decision that has been made

Wasting £25m on a back up and average left back is what Walsh would have done, we have the opportunity to allow for an in house LB to go out and get first team experience with view to taking Baines' place in the squad next summer as deputy to Digne
