I’m all for selling ageing players on big salaries that do t play enough. I was saying no because I’m the original post there were comparison to Man U selling Ronaldo and winning the league the next year etc . Man U sold Ronaldo sure but they had other world class players and could actually attract world class players. We cannot do that and I do t think selling Digne as we can’t really attract anyone as good. We got him because he wanted to play and he was a bit of a gamble but because of his desire he has worked out as good as any could have hoped. I doubt we will get as lucky again and think we need to keep our best players and really hope that we have decent recruitment in the next 2 windows to push us on before players like Digne want to move on. We had Lukaku and stones and we didn’t push on and they ended up leaving and we have never replaced Lukaku goals , when we do get lucky like we have with richy , Digne and to a lesser extent Gana, we need to hold on to them and push for another 3-4 signings that turn out to be the same quality, pushing us up the league and able to keep and attract other top players

If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.
Fantastic idea.. if of course it's implemented properly, the NBA has it and it works where all Luxury tax is pooled together and split amongst teams who did not pay the tax, so you are paying other teams because you decided to spend more.
