We are Liverpool. We Spend More.

Trying to wrap my head around why they think their club matters more to their fans than other teams.

There again, I supposed it's a nod to their cult-like mentality passed down from the club. I couldn't name another club where there are so many so-called diehard fans from around the world (who know very little about the club apart from they're pretty decent and win things). At the end of the day, the more cult-like the club coins itself, the more money they'll drain from these 'fans' as the support is passed down generations, across lands and continents, etc.

The fans are lapping it up, of course.

A slightly more accurate take on their sloganeering.

Even in their finest hour though they’re still ruthlessly calculative about money. Whoever told salah to wear that ‘never give up’ t shirt was a genius. Then of course Klopp had his completely premeditated cringey singing afterwards which of course they’ll splash all over a load of merchandise too to milk the most stupid fan base in the world even more. They can’t even enjoy a cup win authentically without trying to position something in the market.

Imagine the execs at City telling Guardiola to drop some key phrases into his post match interview for marketing purposes, or Mourinho, or Conte. They’d tear that shot a new one. Klopp and Salah are all about that though, brand me me me.
Rememember moyes called us the peoples club and we all milked it to death?

Whats the diff

We were at probably our lowest ebb in our history? He didn’t say anything remotely similar to that for the rest of his tenure with us which suggests it wasn’t pre meditated whereas Klopp has a soundbite planned pretty much every interview ‘the normal one’ ‘boom’ ‘heavy metal football’ etc.

It was also 17 years ago so if that’s the last time our manager tried something for commercial reasons (which I don’t think he did) then it’s in no way similar to the current Liverpool manager getting it out during what should be the happiest moment of his career.

I've signed up on RAWK and intend to spend 80% of the time in the Everton thread batting away any criticism thrown at Everton, and the other 20% in the Liverpool threads with veiled digs at Liverpool. I don't think my cover will be blown.
No chance mate, call yourself kinghodgy and then unveil yourself scooby doo style in 3 years time
