Netspend has to come into it surely. They've sold well to assemble that squad. We haven't.

He totally ignores the fact that his supporters caused the deaths of 39 innocent people, who incidentally had a anniversary just last week. So to come out with a flippant, disrespectfull comment like that is sickening. K’off macmahon.

I bet this becomes the new RS mantra.

“We’d have won it 8 or 9 times by now if UEFA hadn’t banned English teams......proper Yurpeen royalty us like, la’....”

They have to play Chelsea away in Istanbul in the Super Cup.

I'm fully expecting another European ban after that game.

Hopefully Wank Buddha and Fanta Scruff will be at the front of the fighting and be horribly killed to death. Definitely a price worth paying for a European ban.

Wonder if Michael Shields will be going over for it. He probably fancies another bumming in an East European jail!

Liverpool ARE set to contest the Club World Cup in Qatar this December. It will start on Nov. 21, with the final on Dec. 18. The South American and European champions enter in the semi-finals at the Club World Cup.

That will give them a lot of catching up to do in the league.

Don't get me wrong - I would like to see Everton compete in and win this competition. However even if we did it would not bring me the same feeling of greatness and joy that winning the cup-winners cup brought in the 80s. I will explain why.

It's a micky mouse cup because it is now a diluted product simply designed to acquire cash from a bigger, maximised pool of supporters and fans. The European Cup was the pinnacle club competition in Europe - one which the rs won 4 times - good on them the vermin. To win that first you had to be champions, then you had to beat other champions.

However to maximise revenue the cherished competition was then opened up to include swathes of runners up. Now, as has been demonstrated, you can be 'called' champions by not having actually been a champion in 30 years, and beating a team that hasn't been a champion in nearly 60 years. Furthermore, in the process of getting to the runners up final you can actually be beaten.... A few times. Of course this keeps certain brands on show and maximises revenue.

It's the equivalent of saying - take an toen's intra-schools sports event. Rather than selecting the best runner in each school to compete, why not let everybody have a go and charge them each £1 entry. 5p goes in printing the participation certificate, 5p towards the winners, and the rest to the organisers.

If you can't see that this has become a micky mouse competition behind a facade of media hype (the same Murdoch media that profits, script writes and manipulates it) with the explicit aim not of sporting greatness, but of diverting vast swathes of hard earned money from the fans towards Murdich's empire, with his handsomely paid mercenaries, then i can recommend some interesting reading. Just google the story "the emperor's new clothes.'

Behave.... it shouldn't be called the Champions league, but it's still the biggest prize in European football.... How they've won it boggles me, but they have..... And the revenue LFC will make from this will be enormous...

I'm bitter, and I'm jealous... I hate that they've won....I switched the game off the second Origi scored and have avoided Sky Sports News and all football TV since, so haven't seen the celebrations, haven't seen them lift the trophy......

Anyone dismissing the competition as a mickey mouse trophy is lying to themselves....its a huge deal....

Doesn't bare thinking....will be the first time the media have cared about this, and if Liverpool win it they'll go insane... Liverpool 'The best team in the world!'...."Liverpool World Champions".... We'll never hear the end of...

That aside it's only an extra 2 games.... They (wisely unlike Man City) didnt take the League Cup and FA cup seriously this season and won't next year either.... So it will have no impact on the league challenge.... If City had blown off those 2 competitions too, they'd be Premier league and Champions league winners right now..

Its a huge deal to those who follow the hype and for the clubs who are attracted to the money - but for me its a glorified european FA cup but with a chance to progress if you lose, or if you do lose too often, a chance to play in the league cup.

For those reasons it has no draw or gravitas for me. Bring back the European Cup, 2 leg for champions ONLY and i'd be all over that.
