A homegrown one at Chelsea?
Considering how good Reece James is, the fact that Chelsea have a transfer ban and that Azpilicueta is on the decline and is more naturally suited to playing centre half it wouldn’t be surprising if he gets the nod ahead of him next season.

Azpillicueta was always a full back
Conte changed him into a sweeper in a back 3.
He is still a very good experienced PL full back

Not a player on loan to Wigan.

It’s like saying Robinson will replace Digne.
It isn’t though, is it?

We don’t need to be improving at left back, whereas Chelsea need to be improving at right back. Robinson is nowhere near the standard that Digne is at but James may arguably be a more effective right back than Azpilicueta is.

If you haven’t seen Reece James play then I understand why you’d say that but the lad is genuine quality.

I'd be very surprised anyway.
Does not seem to be the way they operate at all. Hudson odoi could not game time most of the season for them .

He has played very well in the championship.
At a lot of clubs he would probably be given a chance . But as I said it's not they way Chelsea have operated in a long time

Yes he was always considered a full back but it’s no surprise Chelsea got the best out of him when he was playing as a centre back. Definitely a great defender with a lot of experience but he lacks any real threat on the attack.
