When did Chelsea last put in a young home grown player as a regular starter? He might be better?
When did Chelsea last put in a young home grown player as a regular starter? He might be better?
Considering some of the regular spelling mistakes I see on here, I'd say that's harsh.Do we have Outpatient fans too?
A homegrown one at Chelsea?Players with no PL experience come in and replace players who’ve been playing in the league for years literally every season
God I hated that man.Simon Davies MkII
He might be better?
Considering how good Reece James is, the fact that Chelsea have a transfer ban and that Azpilicueta is on the decline and is more naturally suited to playing centre half it wouldn’t be surprising if he gets the nod ahead of him next season.A homegrown one at Chelsea?

Azpillicueta was always a full backConsidering how good Reece James is, the fact that Chelsea have a transfer ban and that Azpilicueta is on the decline and is more naturally suited to playing centre half it wouldn’t be surprising if he gets the nod ahead of him next season.
Goes to the instantly forgettable Everton players thread...Simon Davies MkII
It isn’t though, is it?Not a player on loan to Wigan.
It’s like saying Robinson will replace Digne.
I'd be very surprised anyway.Considering how good Reece James is, the fact that Chelsea have a transfer ban and that Azpilicueta is on the decline and is more naturally suited to playing centre half it wouldn’t be surprising if he gets the nod ahead of him next season.
He has played very well in the championship. It isn’t though, is it?
We don’t need to be improving at left back, whereas Chelsea need to be improving at right back. Robinson is nowhere near the standard that Digne is at but James may arguably be a more effective right back than Azpilicueta is.
If you haven’t seen Reece James play then I understand why you’d say that but the lad is genuine quality.
Yes he was always considered a full back but it’s no surprise Chelsea got the best out of him when he was playing as a centre back. Definitely a great defender with a lot of experience but he lacks any real threat on the attack.Azpillicueta was always a full back
Conte changed him into a sweeper in a back 3.
He is still a very good experienced PL full back
A goal and 5 assists last season is not terrible for a full back..Yes he was always considered a full back but it’s no surprise Chelsea got the best out of him when he was playing as a centre back. Definitely a great defender with a lot of experience but he lacks any real threat on the attack.
