I have been taught A Hotel. A Historic event, An MP and An FBI agent.

What about University? I always get this wrong.

As I said I think it has more to do with how the word sounds so if you pronounce Hotel as 'Otel then it would be An Hotel same with Historic pronounced 'Istoric would be An Historic. University would be 'A university', an university just doesn't sound right. :)

I doubt United were interest but if they were than the kid isn’t very bright. De Gea is leaving while LFC have Alisson for long term. Quite sure his chances for the first team few years down the line would have been much higher at United. Now LFC will just sell him for 15m after few years

It's an Hotel if you don't pronounce the H. like Historic, An Historic event. depends on where you come from I guess but as Hotel is a french word and they wouldn't pronounce the H the correct way way to write it would be an Hotel.
Without sounding crass, the pronunciation because of vernacular English doesn't change how it should be written.

It is based on whether the word, in Queen's English, begins with a stressed or unstressed sound. An umbrella has a stressed vowel, while unicorn is unstressed.

Stressed or unstressed being whether it is the letter name that is stressed or the typical sound - if you’ve got kids, phonics.

But it's a field right? Just another thing they get wrong.
FBI is 'F' letter sound (stressed) while field has an unstressed sound.

Just been on the train going through Roby and Broad Green and saw loads of people with RS flags hanging out of their windows. Seedy seedy people their fans
