ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

The good old impartial BBC are going with this as their top story.
I was just about to post that.

If / when City win it today, expect a headline like this:

"Liverpool Make History With Historic 2nd Place Points Total!!"

The BBC are an utter disgrace. They rabidly back Liverpool no matter what the circumstances. It's the propaganda wing of LFC.

Everyone knows it, not just us. Everyone's on to them.

Aye, saw that nonsense too. It's almost like City have no role in this.

Hope city win it and park the celebratory open top bus outside BBC Salford with a message saying "we're sodding Champions, now kiss our backsides like you do with the Koppites. YOU KNOW WHAT WE MEAN".

The Have your say section below the article is priceless - 40 something RS keyboard warriors from four corners of the world wide web - trying to convince themselves of their relevance from their parents Box-rooms / basements and decrying any level-headed person how dares to cross swords with their delusion.

There's nothing like a sense of perspective ; pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

The mention of childbirth is hilarious considering this is the guy who hit on a pregnant woman.

Imagine having no belief system other than supporting that lot? And that's my experiance of them for the most part. They're people with zero moorings in reality other than LFC.

Itls why bad things happen around them. Not even kidding about that.

In typical Liverpool FC fashion, just as, we were all buzzing about them winning nothing this season after being humiliated by Barcelona, they may well lose out today but will likely be able to proclaim themselves champions of Europe in three weeks, ffs.

I know there's a warrior in here saying champions league isn't even a consolation. But in all seriousness you'd pick champions league over league 10/10 everytime even if you haven't won it since the 90s. They've won it 18 times, champions leagues are rare and the biggest prize. We were so focused on hoping they wouldn't win the league champions league was never a thought. Now here we are relying on a team that were scraping for top four to stop them from winning the CL. It'll be sweet to see them lose the league with 97 points today. But tomorrow will come fast and we have to suffer a long horrible build up to this and ultimately have summer ruined. Dam. I'm so negative.

A lot of us knew the CL was a poor standard this year
Still though, Red Star

Not really, as pointed out previously, teams like Porto have won it in recent history.
Winning the most competitive league in the world, proving your the best team in the country is far more impressive.
Winning the champions league is a bit of a misnomer. After all can you really call yourselves the champions of Europe if you can't win you own league?
It's like Wigan fans saying they were the best in the country for winning the fa cup despite getting relegated

I would have been dreading today, but to be honest the events of the week have desensitized me a little as the love-in reached peak level in the media.

Obviously it goes to another level if results go their way today, but to a degree history has shown they don't even have to win things to command the plaudits thrown at them.

I expect City to do the business today, but things are such that the scum will still be portrayed as the moral victors either way.

I further think on balance they'll win in Madrid although their task is made much harder by Spurs than Ajax for a host of reasons. A three week break might go against them at a time when they have a seemingly unstoppable momentum.

If they lose out today, its also a period where the expectation for the UCL final will start to weigh heavily, particularly on Klopp. There is zero pressure on Spurs in that game, none at all.

Still fuming at Barca, but unfortunately the whole PR spin they can put on that result, and the impact it will have on teams visiting there, is pure dynamite. They can dine out on that for years and years, much like Istanbul.

I can't stand it if they win even the League Cup, and it's probably not a popular view, but I think it's inevitable they'll end up with up major silverware over the course of the next few seasons. I'm a toffee, and I detest that club with every bone in my body, but I'm not going to endure spending another season desperately hoping whoever is playing them on the day can get a result. I have hated this season as a consequence. Time to focus more on ourselves.
