Messi "best player of all time"

The greatest player I’ve ever seen, but doesn’t have the ability to motivate and rally those around him when the chips are down.

He completely folds and goes into a shell.

His own performance even gets crappy. He's a great talent, but it is the exact reason I'd say Ronaldo is the better of the generation. He's an over confident d bag, but that's part of it. Ronaldo cusses teammates out, whines, throws his arms up and looks like an awful person to play with but pulls goals out his ass at times. Messi does it against crap teams with nothing at stake. The retiring from the international game then coming back within months sums it up. I their FA is a mess, but it comes across as someone who can't shoulder the load and take criticism at all. He comes across as a child mentally. He was talking all this crap last week about how the CL was the goal this year after the win I believe. I'm sure he'll hide from it.

He was a key part of a world class team.

As those players have gotten older and/or been moved on hes now showing, as with Argentina, he doesnt have the ability to single handedly push teams onto trophies.

The great players do.

Ronaldo is the best currently.

Because he singlehandedly took Juve to the CL final? Oh wait.

What the [Poor language removed] was that performance. How a team with Messi, Suarez, Rakitic etc can thow 3-0 lead and loose. Signing that old donkey Vidal was big mistake on their part and wasted money on coutinho, Malcom etc. They seems to be run very badly by management.

Vidal looked like the only one who cared. And has been played out of position.

"Best player of all time", not even in the top ten players of his generation. A gutless showponey who will always bottle it when he's needed to stand up and be counted as a man. The vast majority of his goals come againt Spanish no-marks who don't know how to defend and lie down for a humping againt Barcelona most weeks then applaud them for doing it. He wouldn't have half his goal tally away from that team. A great, world class player on his day yes. But "Best of all time"? Don't make me laugh.....

Ronaldo has done the same but been bailed out by Ramos (Atletico final) and Bale (RS final).

There's nobody in this Barca team who ever steps up if Messi doesn't. Previously there was Iniesta.

Barcelona need to completely rethink their model for the next three years if Messi is going to still be their focal point. You can´t have a team that lacks so much intensity in games like last night. It´ll only ever end in one way.

Surround this version of Messi with runners and players with an overwhelming desire to win and he´d still be the best player on the pitch. Place him in a team like last night and it´s pointless. The Coutinho signing looks more and more baffling by the week, up there with us buying 3 number 10s in a single summer.
