Next season, I would be happy with the following.

A top 6 finish, with at least one WIN against the RS.

Going all out to win the FA or fizzy drink cup's.

Some decent football along the way.

Seems a little small time if im honest mate, thats honestly not a pop, they are all very realistic aims.

Think its a bit early to put any expectation on next season till after the window closes, money doesnt equal success, but if we did go all out with mega money or if Brands works his magic and manages to sell half the squad we could and should be aiming a bit higher.

But as I say, your aims are very realistic and are the min we should aspire to.

Most Toffee's I meet are realists.

We are a work in progress, lot's to be hopeful about, but it's optimism grounded in achievable expectations.

Now that this is mathematically impossible can we close thread. It's too painful to keep open. The heartache it's causing is brutal.

Why? The fact that we're still in the mix shows how distinctly average those teams have been all season. Actually gives me confidence for next season.

Not in the mix anymore after Wolves’ win. But I agree we’ve been no worse than Leicester.
